paid up letter for a debt settled

Hi all

I need assistance. I had an account with Cell C which was handed over for collection due to non payment. In October 2022 I paid all the money that I owed and received a paid up letter from Cell C debt collectors (CSS). In December 2022 I applied for removal of my name under red flags and I found out I still owe Cell C. Since then I have been calling them every week to get them to allocate the funds I paid to my account to settle the debt (which I paid in full) and get a paid up letter from them to no luck.

My case has been escalated more than 5 times and every time I call I get told the case was closed. How can they close the case without giving me what I need!!? My life is on hold now because of this issue. I can't apply for credit anywhere because of this.

Please somebody help me. I have ran out of options now.

The same thing happen to me for R200 that Cell C said I owed them from like 4 years ago, they handed me into the debt guys at CSS and it was a battle so I did this.
Took Cell C's CSS debt collectors to the Ombudsman for Debt collection, the Ombudsman helped get CSS the prove they need that amount settled from Cell C, Cell C is absolutely useless and I'll say that on a public forum as they don't know from which hand they should wipe their own arse with.
You Must contact the Ombudsman for Debt collections they will be the only people to help you

I had a thing were I wrote off a car that was under finance with MFC. Insurance paid them like in Dec'04 but they only 'registered' the settlement late Jan and claimed the difference in interest from me. No amount of emailing could get their person to understand the crux of why I rejected their claim, but sometimes going to their offices and shouting at them in front of everyone there gets the thing done.

Despite what you think I always warn people when I'm going to scream at them. Even over the phone. I am always courteous like that..

Please take note that a paid-up letter has been provided to the consumer.

Credit bureaus are legally compelled to investigate these claims.
Phone one of the main ones and lodge a dispute with them.
CellC then has 20 days to revert or the credit bureaux is legally required to remove it and also to inform all the other bureaus to do the same.

Much easier than fighting with the credit provider.

Hi im literally in the same position now. My calls get ignored CSS say i must speak to cell c, when i speak to cell c i get an email address that doesnt work. So disappointed. I just want to clear my name.
