I have a Paradox alarm system that uses the Rem 2 remotes. Over time the remotes no longer give the audible feedback it used to when it was new. One of the main buttons on one of the remotes has also broken. It seems the spring behind the button either failed or is no longer there. Can these remotes be repaired as they are quite expensive to replace. If so where can I get it looked at? Could a normal tv repair type person be able to replace the broken button as it seems like a normal button on the board that could be replaced.

Look at these temporary-shop kiosks in some shopping centre walkways, there's often someone selling odds and ends like remotes who may have the knowledge needed. Flea markets as well.

That which has survived the covid experience anyway...

If you use your remote like I do to only arm and disarm the system. I would look at something like Olarm https://www.alarmtec.co.za/olarm-communicator/olarm-pro-p-2725.html
You can then use your phone to arm and disarm the system. you also have added features like bypassing zones.
I looked into this before I called my security company and they offered a Falcon unit (R33 monthly) which is linked to their control room and gives me the same options to control on my phone.

Thanks. I actually use all 5 buttons on the remote and would prefer to get it fixed/replaced. I have looked into the Olarm and Falcon options to interface with the alarm through a mobile app. Call me paranoid but I would rather not let a 3rd party have access to my alarm panel. For me the convenience of arming and disarming my alarm with a single button when leaving or entering my driveway is a bit more convenient than logging into an app on my cellphone as this is the place where I need to be aware of hijackers etc. The paradox system can quite easily be programmed with a gate remote with 2 buttons to just arm and disarm as well.
