Paris is full of refuse bags and dustbins but it is nicely packed all over the city

This is the same oke that can't fathom a future, literally at all, whereby South Africa moves power generation to private ownership. Completely technically impossible according to him.

Because the state systems pays the pension (unlike in SA where pension is based on what you put in, or if lucky you memeber of a defined benefit fund like GEPF, or you get that miniclue old age grant).

Nicolas Sarkozy came into power with this reform being his primary objective and largely failed. The primary issue with Democracy is they struggle to make hard but necessary change that is unpopular. China does not have that issue. Most Western EU countries have an inverted population pyramid meaning they have more and more retired people and less and less people actually working. That is a recipe for collapsed economies. The French in particular also at one point had very cushy fully pensioned state jobs that retired at age 55 etc. Previous presidents pushed through crap like that to get the popular vote, and now the current politicians have to try undo it as it was never sustainable. Kind of have to actually admire Macron for pushing this through as it is needed.

Losing 2 years of pension money is going to suck. If you’re around 60 years old and looking forward to retirement, this is going to suck even more.

They need a better way of implementing this.
 
I don't understand why they are angry at this, and I'm French and will benefit from retirement payments as I've worked in France.

There is no way with an aging population to keep the retirement age down, it needs to go up and be expected to go up more. Doesn't mean if you play your cards right you can't retire sooner, just means you get the payouts later.

We live longer thanks to better lifestyle, healthcare etc.

Oh and it has nothing to do with economic migrants - that's a different problem.

If one can take opportunity to verbally trash migrants, why not ? Especially those free loaders from africa and asia
