Pastel Partner 2009 and Windows 7

Hey guys.. .we have Pastel Partner 2009 version (Build 10.1.3).

We want to install it on Windows 7... but I understand that this build is not compatible.

Apparently the Pervasive SQL version will not work with Windows 7.

Must I upgrade to the newer version? We got a quote for R4805.00 Incl VAT to upgrade.

Or is there another Pervasive Database Server I can use with Windows 7 that is also compatible with Pastel?

Ja, thanks... but apparently not. The database integrates too tightly with the OS.

Guess, I will just have to spring for the upgrade... I really do not want to go back to XP. This is becoming an expensive Christmas.

That's what we got... but I can't find anything on the internet that 9.6 is compatible with Windows 7.

Only that version 10 is. Version 10 was released when Vista came out to make it compatible.

It's gonna be the server for now... a single workstation/server.

Next year we will buy a separate server and move the pervasive there.

Then why doesn't the Windows 7 compatibility database list that possibility?

The earliest configuration it lists is Pastel 2009 build 10.2 and Pervasive SQL 10.

Late reply for this I know: What I have found in my testing was:

When running Windows 7 and Pervasive 9, with the user account control switched off, I could run Pastel Partner without issues that I could pick up.

However, to be on the safe side, I would go with Pervasive 10.

The version of Pastel Partner that is officially Windows 7 compliant is Build 10.2.3A But if you are on version 10 and have support, you can download the V10.2.4 build from the Pastel website
