patch notes for 6th december bf3 patch , 2gb size

guess I am taking my pc to work and starting the download, need to blow out the fans anyways

Some people still seem confused. The patch for PC is released tomorrow, and contains B2K. The B2K maps however will only become available on PC next Tuesday on the official 'launch day'.

my Xpack1 folder only reads 3gig, yet it is complete.

some say it looks like normal edition user may only download 2gig patch...

can any1 with normal edition confirm this?

I have standard edition. Patch size: 3.9 Gigs.

There are varying reports of patch sizes though, with the minimum I've seen being 3.5Gigs and the max 4.3Gigs.

How nice would it be if you could take your flash drive along to say Look n Listen and save the patch on that and use that instead of downloading the patch for half your life time

Im not sure that one can simply copy the updates from a specific location. To be safe, just copy the entire battlefield 3 directory. Then after you format, reinstall origin from the website. Then paste the battlefield 3 contents back into the C/Programfiles/origingames/ folder.

Please note that I have no evidence that this will work. Just my assumption based on some stuff I've read regarding the way origin works.

Anyone know why the IR scope now seem to not work as now nothing comes up in yellow as before this patch? That is very annoying is there away to change a setting perhaps?

well they did nerf it, but it is supposed to still work though only at 50m or something much closer.

haven't put the new patch to test so can't comment yet.

@abdul yeah you can do that as I have seen many posts about people doing it. I have done it as well when I re-installed Origin when it gave me hassles. just copied my whole BF folder.

Well our power keeps tripping so no BF3 for me today. Still only downloaded 20%

For me that solution didn't work I ended up making it worse by losing my patch download percentage from 34% to 4% Finished this morning though on a 384k so it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

When I tired the above solution I backed up all my files and replaced it with a friends patch then attempted to tell Origin to repair my game which it then simply started downloading the patch from scratch even though the patch was in the correct folder and fully downloaded :/ what I did next was replace my entire bf3 with his fully updated one and same thing origin was convinced it needed to download the patch even though the game I was now running was fully patched already, sigh I wish they would make these patches more user friendly and transferable and have separate downloads for the DLC and the patch, yes they said sorry about it being one whole thing but that simply isn't good enough.

Get the game!!!

The easiest is to download origin, get your buddy to open an account and then give you login details, you then log in on his account and download the game. Then copy to hdd and give to him, but then you'll have it and be able to come and join us on the battlefield!

I am guessing then that you are not going to play MW3? :D

The bigest change i found with the IR scope is that you still see the "Red Markers" of the enemy at a distance but the rest of the background detail is blury.
