My friend just came back to me. No problems last night with his 3G in Auckland Park..."peeing" distance from the SABC. He lost his connection once or twice during the hectic storm there last night but other than that no issues. Does not rule out that you two are connecting to different Base Stations though.

I doubt that. You most likely would have locked yourself in never to be heard from again...only to be discovered by a Vodacom techie doing maintenace as a skeleton hehe. IOL headline "Broadband addict gains entry to BTS, skeleton found 3 years later" hehehe.

Why dont you take your latop and go sit outside my friends house? Ill ask him to give you free coffee while you surf. Thats the beauty of 3G, its mobile so you go where the signal is hehe. Kidding.

I think get a ref number from 082155 (insist on it) and PM it to VD. Perhaps he can look into it. He should be able to check what BTS you connecting to.

Hehehe ... if only I had a laptop!

Has VD been around at all, today? He is well aware of my problem and to which BTS I am connecting. As I said before, this BTS has been problematic for a long time.

But, I'll follow your advice anyway. I've been without 3G for almost 24 hours, now. And this is in the middle of the biggest city in SA! Glad I am not in the middle of the OFS! :rolleyes:
 
VD is a very busy man. But maybe he's working on your problem. :) there is a cable break though? Can't that be why you are affected?
 
I doubt it. The cable break is affecting Midrand and Sandton. I am way south of that area.

Also, from ocleroux's feedback, other BTSs in this general area are fine.
 
Vodacom 3G Slow Throughput

I see you guys also have a speed problem. Same here. My emails doesn't even want to download and some websites takes forever to load. I am in Krugersdorp.

Just tried opendns, but the problem remains.:sick:
