Cool...glad to hear Steinie.
South Africa’s biggest forum. Discuss, discover, and connect with thousands of members.
BTW: Does it still help logging issues on this forum?...responses from VC seems really bad, or is it just me?
Regards!
Support on this forum is done voluntarily and the people trying to help in any post here (not just vc) gets torn apart by negative sods when things get a little tough. So i dont blame them.
U are herewith redeemed...and will be receiving your dolly soon in the mail. I only had males left though![]()

Have you logged this with the 082155 desk and reported the problem to VD with your ref number Meat?
MR: ocleroux: Logging faults with Vodacom helpdesk - plenty. The last one took more than 2 weeks to resolve and was noted during their upgrade period. Not ONCE, even though I specifically asked, was I informed on when the problem would be resolved, or even what the reason for the outage is - and I waited for two weeks for a (volunteer?) employee to fix the problem...
He does however raise a point a number of other forumites have raised recently is that VCD is not vocal enough with feedback. While a number of things are being resolved in PM, the feedback that things are either being investigated or have been fixed is not being posted for others to see so I can understand some of the frustrations at the moment.
I`ve done this before and the post was deleted , i advise most that once the problem is resolved that they reply to the post/thread they created.
But this is not in my control.and some dont.
What do you mean by your post was deleted? When was this?
The problem is you are leaving a heap of unresolved threads in your wake and that builds a bad impression. Nothing stops you to make a final post in the thread indicating that things were resolved in PM.
This is why, MR J0n0, I volunteer to update the forum, and will continue todo so, in an attempt to allow the ISP, who volunteer to read the forum, more insight into the problems on their network. You see what used to be nice about the Vodacom Forum on MyBB is that I used to get feedback...and lately there is none - that is why I simply, without being negative, asked the question, in order to determine if it is worth my while to update the forum, or spend the time calling the data center every time?
Is the service provided by ISP's, may it be Vodacom or any other company in any industry in RSA also done voluntarily? If I buy a product or service, I do not subscribe to a voluntary movement, in fact, I subscribe to a service and expect value for my hard earned cash - which lately, does not seem to be the case. I guess it is easier to say that you support a forum on a voluntarily basis, especially when things go wrong, leaving a back door open and simply leave when the room gets a bit hot.
What i mean with my post is that, beside their fulltime jobs (that takes priority in all fairness), they have personal lives as well. You CANNOT expect them to hang about here and wait for people to post their problems. Vodacom didnt ask them to come here, but they do try and help here as they can. You can't be sure what they are up to when not here can you? Before saying things about someone (are you saying they are slacking?), maybe make sure you have an idea of what their reasons are.
Once again, they never needed to be here in the first place, Vodacom never asked and its not compulsory. And they never ran away in the first place. There's many pointless posts being posted here, that even i wouldnt be bothered to reply to If i was them. Mainly because some of these people dont seem to bring their side.
I got some great service from here, and i still do. And i made it known. Most people run here and dont even bother with finding out what the correct procedure is.
My coffee is cold, cheers.
So the sms/mms notifications blackberry refunds and the 1200 PM`s i have in the inbox counts for nothing ?
Unfortunately it only counts for the people involved in the PM. If you are not wrapping the threads up or posting feedback at intervals the rest of us don't know what's going on. Prime example was the data usage SMS's. You had passed the issue on, but only later when people were still complaining did you inform them that the problem had been escalated.
Also having things resolved in the public forum means it can be searched and other people can either read the solution or see that you were involved in resolving it. Just my take on things. Use it/don't use it![]()
No problem , point taken.
Am also faced with a problem where we have 0 posters pm`ing (spelling) with no post in the forum .
And having to resolve the issue via PM.
Regards

Anything that starts in the public forum should be resolved there IMO. If you fix something for a 0 poster in PM and you feel it has relevance to the rest of us then post a summary of the issue and resolution so people are aware of it.
