Patrick Lambie vs Mornè Steyn

Frans Steyn has definitely been affected by playing in France. Northern rugby is very structured and ''old school''. Kick and keep it amongst the forwards.

Morne Steyn and Ruan Pienaar looked too flat for me, very little go forward momentum and Steyn just sits in the pocket. Skop and chase. I honestly feel that Francois Hougaard and Pat Lambie could be our best combination down the line. They will get you going forward. Lambie just needs to work on his kicking.

Steyn would be fine if we played in the Six Nations, but he is outdated against the Wallabies and All Blacks. James O'Connor, Quade Cooper, Dan Carter, Aaron Cruden, Kurtley Beale, all of these guys make Steyn look like he's from the 80's. Lambie also lacks their pizzazz, but he is still willing to play ''off the front foot'' and does not sit back in the pocket.
 
That's where "sad to say this" Morne Steyn comes in. This point was probably made earlier already but. With especially the All Blacks challenging for the balls at the ruck, there is a chance that many penalties will go the other way. Especially with Richie's dirty playing style. And I don't think Lambie has a good head on his shoulders to handle the pressure. Not saying he is not a good player, but just Morne is a much better place kicker.

If SA changes their style of play, then Lambie will be suited to the game, but with the style of rugby they are playing at the moment. I think Morne is better suited.

WRT to Fullback, definitely Gio. He has the attacking flair to take on players from the back and his defense is not too bad and to top it off. He has quite a good left boot on him. My 2c for the morning

I just think Gio is a lot more talented then people give him credit for. He tackles well above his weight division too. So leave him on the right then...

Frans gives the Boks cover at centre, full back and flyhalf and Gio can play 11,14 or 15....

Would love to have seen Frans in Super 15 this season though. Wonder what sort of season he's had at Racing Metro? I thought he was very mediocre when he ran out for the Boks in last years Tri-Nations...

'Aplon' and 'tackle' are not words that are often found in the same sentence - unless accompanied by a 'missed'.

Where was Basson in the last two games? Most certainly not on the right wing.

Wait - he was there and got overlapped by the tubbies.

Take the drugs away and they become mediocre

Aplon are one of the consistent players in the bok squad atm. he deserves to be picked ahead of any other player at fullback. he has not made many mistakes as the other players. if he is given decent ball then he can break lines within the all black and aussie teams. lambie and basson are inexperienced at test level. they need game time against the lower ranked teams
