Paying for Dates

K I have a question for you socialites:

If you bump into a friend and invite for coffee, and she absolutely insists on paying for her coffee, what do you make out (I'm really not used to this, I ALLWAYS pay)?

Well, enough that I wanted to go on another till I thought about the bill thing. :D

Only one thing to do then- go for a second date and see how she reacts when that bill comes
You dont want to pass up someone potentially special over R15 :D

^that

Don't judge on the first date but I've be careful of leechers, I've had my fair share of them. Takes no more than 3 dates to identify those and they are always the ones who are picky with the places.

Take your date to McDonalds if you want your not sure :) (Jokes aside but my wife and I ended up at McDonalds on our 2nd date as all the places we went to that night involved one of us bumping into somebody we where trying to avoid)

Me and the current gf also stopped at McDonalds on second date and ate inside :D

It's not the money, it's the principle. :p

If she insists she insists. *shrugs.

I've only dated women who insisted on paying their own way, so I've never had to confront that situation. But I do think both parties should always offer to contribute. If she expects to have everything paid for, then she better also be obedient, appreciative and speak only when spoken to. No point in her getting an education either as that will not really be required for performing her general duties.

This thread reminds me why I hated dating, what an expensive ballache and one often judges the date on the smallest things that can often be so irrelevant. I'm married 4 long years and went out for 4yrs before that and we are only now discovering each other.

I've thought about this topic tonight and I would say that if your really concerned about who is going to pay the bill, then its obvious your either not interested in your date or your not ready to be dating. Anyway, I'm off to bed and at least I did not have to take my wife out on a date tonight to get some ...... :)

imho i wouldn't mind if she said hey let me pay half, though to be totally honest its very very difficult accepting she will pay half :)

even if it is just a friend :)

If it's just a friend, then you definitely should not always be the one picking up the bill.

If I go on a date and he is a jerk - Ill let him pay. If on the other hand he is interesting and would like to see him again - Ill reach for the wallet.

I agree.
#1) If you asked her out, then you pay.
#2) If she asked you out, then you pay.
#3) If she is just a friend, then you pay.
#4) If she offers to pay with any of the above, then she is most likely desperate and looking for another date.

If you want her to pay with any of the above, including #4, then she will also no longer be interested in you.

I'm the other way around. If I let the jerk pay , getting rid of him might be harder. I would rather pay and let it be done with. :)Possibly depends on the size of the jerk though.. :D

My thinking. If you can not afford me on the first date how the he'll will you do 4 months down the line.

i thought the presence of girls in this thread would clarify things...

I mean you asked me out, you probably picked the place. I have tried to act like a lady and did not order the 500g tbone steak and picked the most normal priced item. Did not drink too much of the expensive stuff. And you wAnt me to pay!!!
Hel no!

My greatest fear is that you're not actually joking.

Yep, a good hooker would cost a little more than you, but I wouldn't have to put up with your **** and gingervitis.

No. I'm not. I just want a man that can pay it's own way. I do not want to sit at home because mister man feels emancipated because I can afford to do stuff he can not.
