PC Link Computers: Legit?

Yes I bought something from them a few months back and my sister collected when the order was ready as they just around the corner from them

Bump. Any later feedback on these guys?

Site issues (I struggle to log in). Minor order issues (not everything got sent out with my orders). Be careful of the open box items (had at least 2 issues out of the 4 items I bought - stupid issues with e.g ip cameras that are paired with a login already and are now duds). But other than that I am happy with them.

I used to vouch for these guys. All was fine until you have a fault with a product you bought. Jezuz, they really couldnt give two shts about customer service.

AVOID

It seems like they have some hidden costs that I was not aware off.

R79 delivery fee (Gauteng).
R68.85 PayFast card fee (when paying by card)

I'm gonna pass for now.

Just going to add on to this since its the first search result.

Its been over a month since I placed an order with them, and it hasn't been delivered. Their tracking functionality is limited (basically your only option is to contact them once too much time has passed).

I've dropped them 2 emails so far, its been more than a week since the first, and no response to either. The Emails weren't bounced, they are simply ignoring them.

Judging from the previous comments, I guess they are a legit shop, but as soon as something goes wrong with an order they just fall apart.

I placed an order with these guys on a friend's recommendation. I was disappointed to see that they add a card surcharge fee. I wonder if their Mastercard agreement allows for that. Hopefully my part does arrive. I will update when it does.

I wonder if their Mastercard agreement allows for that
Mastercard, as a global entity, is perfectly fine with merchants levying a surcharge, as long as it's no more than the cost incurred to the merchant & is equally applied to VISA/etc.

That being said, it's nearly impossible that their Merchant Agreement allows for it, as the Payments Association of South Africa explicitly prohibits surcharging on domestic transactions.

The easiest way to find out is by contacting your bank, you're most likely entitled to a partial refund.

I wish I had seen this thread last week before I ordered a printer from them. Trying to find out my tracking number is a mission. They just say that it should arrive today or tomorrow. I just need to know for sure so that I can be at home for the purported delivery. They don't respond to emails and when I phoned, they promised to send an email with the details. I'm not holding my breath for that one.

I would probably say only use them as last resort if you really cannot get the item for a similar price elsewhere.

Good information in this post. Thanks for sharing.

I tried to buy it from Makro first for R95 less Problem is it's an online only product and they wanted R2100 delivery fee for a R4600 printer!

All is forgiven. The printer arrived late this afternoon. Still no email from the shop though.

Good prices. Non existent customer service. I would use them for consumables but not laptops and pricey stuff. I learned my lesson with the Lenovo laptop I bought from them.

Have bought a few items from them before without problems, but that was a long time ago.
Looks like they pull the same trick as evetech and give you "discount" for EFT payments.
