[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

How many tvs do you buy in 1 year?
Will start counting this year.

Epic! Hope you can scroll back to find the settings we’re using, as well as to minimise motion issues. You gaming too?
Thanks! Will go back a few pages and look for those! Its going to be used mainly for movies and series. Have a family member moving in for a few months so decided to put something decent in guest room. I'll try gaming on it for a bit and see how it is. Whichever one is better I'll put in the lounge :D

Also, don’t use VIDAA’s Settings shortcut to control settings for sources other than VIDAA. While in each source, use the Settings button on the remote.

Lastly, I have not fiddled with any of the finer colour tuning settings, etc. Would be great if someone could calibrate and post settings…

I found the menus to be excellent. Far more than what I was expecting, and in line with LG and Samsung.

Two Spyro cable guys :-). My wife's collection is Wolverine, Spyro, Crash and Spike from Gremlins. Mine is Vader and Vaultboy, son has Master Chief and Black Panther.
Actually like the quality of them :-)

But why?

Anyway, interesting match up, what time do you have supper? Will check back later :p
My guess is that the A8H will smoke the Q70B in every aspect except brightness (to the specific user who likes brightness pumped up), and possibly in PS5 gaming if the slightly washed out colour and VRR is still/an issue.

As mentioned, my A8H’s brightness is perfect for me in a bright lounge.

He bought a 65U7H not A8H?

Yeah no question, but he got a U7H, interested to see how that matches up against the similarly priced Samsung.

Got the Hisense setup. Put it on the spare TV stand so I could do a short side by side.

Had to connect the TV via a Lan cable as wifi kept disconnecting. It updated twice to what I presume is the latest firmware? The wifi connection seems fine now.

Put them both on the dynamic picture setting. Samsung brightness was on max (50) and the Hisense was on 60/100. I changed the colour tone to standard on both. The Samsung doesnt have local dimming. The Hisense I set the backlight on High. Here are some initial picture comparisons.

Samsung Q70B on the left. Hisense U7H on the right.

The Hisense is much brighter but the Samsung has better contrast and colours. Ironically, blacks are deeper on the Samsung.

Side note. The price of the 65 U7H has come down to R12999 from R14999.
The Samsung was R16999 on sale at Makro.

Gonna do some gaming and report back.

Are you sure the Samsung is on the right of those pics? Cause the one on the right looks like blacks are more gray? And colour a little more washed out

Lol my bad. The Samsung is on the Left . Not sure why I said right.

The Samsung has a VA panel. The Hisense uses an ADS panel, hence why the blacks look grey.

Rather use Cinema/Film/Movie mode to test, I think.
Will do that shortly. I dont have an extension cord and I was running the Hisense off my inverter, but the the battery was low. Just charging the inverter so I can use it.

Saw the A8H again, this time in a store, and it’s such a damn bargain. LG and Samsung are going to be forced to drop prices when more people see this. Why are there no Hisense OLEDs at Makro / Game / HifiCorp?
