[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

How do you try the media directly? It has to get it from my Media Server somehow.

the TV, as well as the media playback device as well as the software have to all have DV compatibility for MKV DV files to play .... MP4 might play with any software but for MKV DV files i had to use "Just player" on android devices - not sure if Kodi has added MKV DV functionality in version 21

Yeah, 21 one now has MKV DV support.

cool - so now i can uninstall "Just Player" because it doesn't work with network files - so you have to have the drive connected or be streaming - and i don't have subscriptions for all the streaming services yet - just Netflix only
 
Went to makro to check the U8k and found a Q7 for R16k 65", the U8k is R18k on special. Except for the sound what's the difference between the two TV? 1000336783.jpg

Hisense is a good gaming tv.
 
Hi guys, my one year old u8H has a dead pixel and Hisense refunded me , recommend me a replacement please , budget 17k willing to go up to 20k must be 65 inch will be used for series x , media viewing via mi box and coupled to a Yamaha a2a , the u8H was brilliant beside the horrible Ui , thanks

The 2024 version aka u8n is apparently even better since it's mini led and ui is apparently improved a bit....although it's R23k currently maybe wait for it to go on special...BF isn't far if you can wait that long or there could be September specials next month.

I'm in the market for the same tv but apparently the 85 inch isn't available in SA yet,I actually wanted to go for a Samsung OLED but my youngest kid leaves the tv on sometimes and goes away,burn in would probably really burn me unfortunately so as much as I love the Samsung s95c 77 inch I'm not gonna risk it since burn in warranties on OLED seem to be non existent.

According to Rtings comparison the difference is very small, and always remember we get the Vidaa versions not the google tv version. I ordered the u8K from takealot at R16800 will see how it stacks up.

Is he watching a static image? Plus even if he is it will go into screen saver mode
 
Took delivery of the U8K yesterday, and returned it this morning, issues with the eArc port, thought it would just be a straight fit in where my u8h was, and connected the same way with one eARC cable and all other components going into my A2A Yamaha avr. No such luck, Series X doesn't even go to 4k, I tried all troubleshooting tips as per AV forums, and it looks like a lot of consumers have similar eARC issues. Eish, maybe I should try the U8N

Yeah the main difference is brightness and contrast which I concede won't be an issue for every situation,my lounge is very bright as one entire wall of over 5m is basically only glass,for my situation personally that would be a material difference for daytime viewing and worth the extra cost.

I wish Hisense gave us the Google TV versions in SA.

She mainly watches YouTube, the static logos is the concern also, if I was a bachelor then definitely OLED only but with multiple people including wife and kids watching everything I know somewhere something is gonna cause burn in so not worth the effort of policing them on how to correctly use an OLED TV.

Might as well go with the mini LED and not worry about unpredicatable scenarios ruining my TV.

Agreed. I know I might have to get a box later, but it would have been great to have a single device setup for once. Looking at TCL now.
 
Got the u8n 65 at Hirsches today for R19999, will check it out tomorrow when it arrives , reviews look good and in store next to the u8k it looked much closer to Oled than I’ve yet seen on a mini led tv
