[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Definitely getting the Q8600 now before it gets out of stock. This false equivalents of H9G=U8QF should not be entertained. These two are completely different. 10 bit vs 8bit +frc means the panels are totally different and any H9G reviews you see online won't apply to the U8QF.

Does the q8600 have 10bit and the u8qf 8bit+frc?

Do you think the q8600 is better than new u8qf?

The color bit depth of the U8QF is the same as the Q8600 (8 bit + FRC).

The improvements from the Q8600 to U8QF, on paper, are quite cosmetic. Same peak brightness, same contrast ratio, both VA panels, no 2.1 hdmi eArc, no VRR.

So, for someone like me, who needs a TV now (Not on Black Friday) and can't afford an OLED, the Q8600 is the clear winner at R16k vs R30k.

You won't be disappointed. It's a great TV if you go by image quality. The OS is a bit on the iffy side.

I find the built in prime/YouTube and Netflix apps work fine. Also the built in media player is good. Plays my lunch remuxs well

Showmax is really bad.
I find it is a bit laggy. Sometimes when a Youtube ad plays during a video and the video resumes, the sound is out of sync, so I have to go back a few seconds to play again and then the sound is right again. Doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

Then also previews of the videos don't load sometimes. It's just empty black boxes with the video name under it, which is a tad annoying.

And then we also would like to have Airplay, which is not possible on the VIDAA unfortunately. That's Apple's fault though...they like to complicate things for other manufacturers.

I have YouTube premium so no ads.

Android so casting works fine

One issue I noticed is that I had my amp on hdmi1 and litbox on HDMI 2. Using arc the audio is always out of sync.

Connected lit box straight through to the amp and audio sounded better and was perfectly in sync

Can you control your volume with the lit box/TV remote? I have it through the ARC so that I don't need to use the soundbar's remote. When I used the optical cable I didn't pick up any issues, but I want to be able to use the remote lol

I don't have a litbox remote it died a while ago.

I do use the Hisense remote to control volume of the amp that works perfectly.

How does the warranty process work with Takealot? Do they come collect it in the case of fault or can you take the TV straight to Hisense?

I would probably go through Takealot if need be. 4 Year warranty is quite nice :D

Hi Guys, does anyone have any experience with the sound quality on the 65Q8600?
I see it says dolby atmos which doesn't mean much if the speakers are the usual tinny crap on new TV's.

I moved my LG speaker bar (https://www.lg.com/za/home-audio/lg-SH5) to my Office two days ago and I've been having a blast listening to music while working, so would be nice if the TV has decent audio and I don't necessarily need a new speaker bar.

Don't really need to upgrade my Hisense 55k3300uw in my room but I've been thinking about it, and how much I actually use it, and frankly I'm sick of always going entry level with TV's. Would be nice to have something with decent HDR and quantum dot tech.

I actually contacted Hisense directly (via email) and they assisted me. They asked for a receipt so I sent them a screenshot of my takealot order info.

I just wanted to post my experience from today.
I noticed DSTV Now & Netflix really slow on my TV (using VIDAA), so I contacted Hisense. They then shared with me the software update file, which wasn't working for some reason.
They then sent a technician to do the update for me today. Really impressed

The TV's speakers are crap lol. I have a Samsung Soundbar attached to mine. I don't understand why these TV's even come out with speakers
