[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

I bought a Hisense 55" from ebucks on Black Friday last year. The TV has now stopped working. It just gives a black screen. The menu works, but nothing else works. No TV channels, no Netflix, no YouTube, nothing. I reset the the to factory defaults but still nothing. What is the easiest way to get hold of Hisense for a warranty claim?

Anyone managed to spot a 65" U7QF in stores yet? This is the midrange 2020 model (ie. between the U8QF and U7WF)

@Hisense SA
I'm not able to find any specifications of this model other than what Takealot has listed, so would like to confirm that the A7200F is definitely an running Android TV as the underlying OS?

Hi @Hisense SA , I have just bought a 55B8000 is about 3 weeks back, and I'm having issues with the apps not playing in 4k, neither Netflix, YouTube or dstv now will play any comtent in 4k. Also when I check the information section in these apps it picks up the tv model as 55a6501ex.

I also did some digging on how to check the firmware of the tv on the settings and it also shows 55A6501ex as the model of the tv,.

Have I been conned with an older model tv or is this a software issue.

I need help to sort this out as the whole reason I bought this tv is to watch Netflix in 4k. NB I have a 100mb line, and also tested this with a 4k fire TV stick which plays 4k without any issues.

Please help with a new firmware update if that's the case.
Pic attached for reference.

Thanks
I have the same problem with my 55B8000uw, when I register my tv on line it showed the device is actually 55A6500ex. What is this actually. Has takealot conned me?

Hey, I tried that TV for a week. Yes, it runs the official Android TV 9.
What made you return the A7200F for the Q9600? Just the 8bit vs 10bit colour?

I see the 55A7200F is a daily deal on Takealot today at R8000.

Hmm, but the 55Q9600 is R11000... hmmm...

I was upgrading from the Samsung KU7000 and the A7200 felt like the same TV. My lounge is very bright most of the day, I couldn't see much on the A7200. It's android OS was very smooth but the remote buttons are poorly arranged. The Q8600 has very good reflections handling and viewing angles, is very bright and handles HDR content very well. VIDAA software sucks but I got an android box. For someone who's not picky, the A7200 will do just fine.

Also, the 30 days return policy of Takealot makes it the best place to try a TV.

Hi Guys, one of the issues i have with both my Hisense televisions is that they don't support Showmax Pro.
I own the 55B8000UW and the 65 inch M5010U. I am now forced to add a telkom Litbox which i feel is an unnecessary cost as a simple update to the television firmware should have resolved this. What this experience has taught me is not to purchase any smart tv. Just purchase a normal 4K set and add a Litbox or decently spec android box. I just feel anyone reading this post should learn from my mistake and make a more informed choice going forward. Hope my experience helps someone on this forum....

True, or just buy an Android TV enabled set from the get go.

Hi

Is there still a Hisense rep on this forum?

Messaged @Hisense SA about 2 weeks back and still no response

I have a 6100 series TV - and since the last OTA software update, Youtube seems to be getting stuck when coming out of ads etc or occasionally the TV freezes on a black screen when changing to YouTube.

Looking to find out if there is a solutuion or a how to to roll back to the previous firmware version.

Regards

You won't find a "good" non-smart TV. If you don't like the TV's built-in apps, then you can just plug your own preferred device in?
