[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Hi

Is there still a Hisense rep on this forum?

Messaged @Hisense SA about 2 weeks back and still no response

I have a 6100 series TV - and since the last OTA software update, Youtube seems to be getting stuck when coming out of ads etc or occasionally the TV freezes on a black screen when changing to YouTube.

Looking to find out if there is a solutuion or a how to to roll back to the previous firmware version.

Regards

Having the exact same issue, been trying to get a working firmware fix, spent all of the weekend speaking to multiple consultants when one finally sent through a .bin file which didnt work. After having informed said consultant she then asked me to complete a repairs request form to then have a technician sent out. I just want the correct file, if you dig far enough back into this thread you'll notice the amount of people that went through this dilemma and it was eventually solved by the CORRECT file being used to update the tv.

Do let me know if you have found any joy

I did previously receive a file from the Hisense rep on the forum, solved previous issue i had with having to clear cache every 2nd day.

This firmware was replaced by an OTA update a few months back... that is why I am looking for a way to either roll back to that firmware or if they maybe have a fix to update.

All of us have that issue.

Went to Kloppers today and they had the U8QF on display.
Next to it was the samsung TU7000. Maybe the demo content is of different quality but the Samsung TU7000 outperformed it by miles and the TU7000 is R8300 cheaper as well (for both 55" versions). Now I am confused all over again. Thought this was supposed to be a PREMIUM tv. Another thing that bothered me with the U8QF is the whole bottom bezel is covered with material (I assume it is for the speakers), it looks of very poor quality and if it can be torn very easily.

the demo content is normally there just to make the TV look good. Unless they are displaying the same content, don't take anything away from what you just saw.

I was really keen on getting the U8QF however, the 65" price hike from the previous generation 65" Q8600 is unwarranted for minor improvements.

I went into Tafelberg this past week and purchased their last 65" Q8600 for R15999.

Just purchased a 65B8000 today for the bedroom. Overall very happy with the picture quality. Native 4K content looks great and I'm very pleased with the HDR performance.

Upscaling from lower res content isnt the best but for the price cant really complain. I was honestly was shocked by the size difference between 55" and 65" (comparison pic below. C9 for reference). Its only 10inches, but damn... The UI is responsive however the "AppsNOW" app just keeps freezing and doesnt open. The local dimming is good. There is some noticeable blooming (pic below with youtube app) but for 95% of real world content I didnt notice it (pic below).
Keen to try gaming on this to see how it performs but for the under R10k, I'd definitely recommend this TV for anyone that wants to get a UHD tv that wont break the bank.

I was a bit sceptical about the Q8600, alot of people complained about the white/grey (vignetting in the corners) and when I went to Makro a few months ago I did see this on their demo unit. I always watch Tv in the dark and was very sure this would irritate me too much. Because of that reason I did not buy the Q8600.

I hear you. Thing is though, unless you buying an OLED or quite an expensive Samsung or Sony, you will be experiencing a bit of vignetting on any TV around this budget(stand to be corrected). I also don't watch TV in complete darkness cause of the strain it puts on my eyes, so I guess that saves me a little.

If I did have another 10-12k to spend, I would of picked up the Q80R instead.

Hey FoxFire675, where did you get the 65B8000 for under 10K?

I got it from Hirsch. They brought in the new 2020 models so this was marked down. Also got another 55Q8600 about a month ago from them as well for R6900 during their sale but gave it to my sister as it had the usual bad DSE and vignetting around the corners.

which branch?

Hisense U8QF or Samsung Q60T? Which has the better picture quality?

So I was at Hirsch's today and saw both q7f and q8f up close and personal.

Under shop display conditions. They both look really good wrt screen uniformity and minimal vignetting. Picture looked a bit soft though , must be the soap opera effect from display mode.
The viewing angles looked good too

Looking forward to hear comments from actual owners.

The prices though let's hope black Friday brings some better news !

I will be giving them a try if the prices are right

I'm currently considering the 55Q8600UWG from the link below.

However, most Youtube reviews when you search for "Hisense Quantum dot" reviews the H8Q.
Does anyone know what the differences between these two models are?

Example of a review of H8Q? Can't find any on YouTube.

So the Kloppers site lists the 55Q8600 as 120Hz ... can anyone confirm if this is correct? If so, this is what I need ... LOL
