[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

For anyone considering high refresh rate gaming on this, you should take this into consideration (the manual also lists all the HDMI ports at 4k@60hz)
It did install an update the first time I set it up, but I don't know what the update contains(don't know if it's "fixable by updating, if HiSense chooses to do so).

120Hz panel that won't do 120Hz... so sad. Other than that, awesome for the price.

Does anyone have either of these tv's and care to share their experiences??

I've got the 65" one. So far very happy with it. Only annoyance was getting picture brightness right as even with automatic contrast turned off, it would still adjust the brightness based on the content. Once forced to something brighter its been fine though.

No issues at all thus far.

Just saw ads on the new Hisense ULED range - are these replacing the Q8600 range?

The U8QF replaces the Q8600 as I understand it.

In a nutshell, the panel appears to be the same as the old models and it doesn’t support HDMI 2.1. The improvements include JBL sound and the updated OS.

But the prices have taken a massive jump upwards. R16999 for the 55” and R29999 for the 65”.

Review here which should help those interested. Stand is different which may be a region thing. Also as mentioned in the video, the H9F and U8QF are to different tv's.

This review makes me wonder if I should really buy this instead of an entry level TV. Save a few thousand

@Hisense SA

Ok m having a warranty issue with my 10 month old Q8600 premium TV.

The hdmi1 port that has ARC has stopped working. I have logged the call and the guys came out today. They did not want to replace the main board as the clip cover of the optical port had broken off when oli inserted the cable months ago.

The issue is with the HDMI port and not the optical. It is ridiculous that they do not want to repair this issue.

The reason I bought it is because if a 4 year warranty but this makes it null and void.

@Hisense SA have a 55K3110PW TV and when streaming netflix, the tv makes a strange sound and then restarts itself, it only does so when streaming netflix and not while using other services like youtube.

I have tried the following (to no avail):
  • Checked to have latest firmware
  • Unplugged the TV for extended period of time to discharge before using it again
  • Checked the internet connectivity (tools via pc as well as via Netflix app)
  • "reload" the netflix app
  • factory reset the tv
Any help or advice?

Detailed info:
Device: 55K3110 PW
SKU: 326388
Serial: 55K3110PW/S1Z1
Firmware: V00.01.00a.G0225

Hi guys

Need some help on my 65q8600

First, i want to stream bluray 4k hdr from my pc to the tv without transcoding. the MKV file plays but lags like hell.
btw, file size is 85gb in 2hr. upgraded router to ac1200 5ghz. seems better but still lagging. not gonna upgrade the router again, cause not sure it that is the problem.
if i put the file on a 128gb flash drive, it plays fine on the tv

did run a lan cable. plays worse than the wifi. remember the tv is only 100 base
pc is gigabit and router is gigabit

now im thinking of going android tv box, but cant find one with a gigabit port. Any recommendations on something that will work with netflix, dstv, prime video and showmax?

next issue is that i want to play games from my pc to the tv
i have a 18gbps hdmi cable. all works well until i switch of the pc
switch back on and it doesn't boot. when i remove the hdmi and restart my pc, it boots fine
tested the hdmi on my monitor and that works fine. i disabled the hdmi cec stuff and changed the hdmi port from 1 to 2. same issue.

pc is ryzen 1800x
msi x370 carbon
sapphire rx580

anybody got any advice for me?

First issue, as mentioned above, just run a lan cable

For the hdmi issue it is weird that only the tv causes the issue but the monitor not - are you using the same (length) cable for both? Listen for some beep codes from the motherboard if it has a speaker, for instance on an ami BIOS 1 long and 2 short beeps indicate a display problem e.g. display not plugged in / detected.
You can also try and enter the bios and change the primary display between onboard / PCIe slot

edited post. did run a cable, no joy

im using the exact same cable for both. i thought its the hdmi 1 (ARC) port, but does the same on hdmi 2
pc does not have onboard gpu, so no setting for that

Well then you have partially answered your own question....try another tv, seeing that the monitor works? Maybe the frequency / res output by the pc is too high for the tv for some reason?

edit: also try moving the tv closer to the pc and try a shorter cable

Hi guys

What's your thoughts on the viewing angle of the B8000. I must say I'm not impressed as the colour appear washed just at a small angle in a small lounge,

Is this normal on this panel?

Thanks
This is true. Tiny shift in angle 20 degree or more the color turns to Dudu.

Question, what formats does your monitor support? Resolution etc, wondering if this has the same bandwidth requirement as the TV.

I sometimes struggle to get 4k 60 on the Q8600 with my GTX1070, the colours will get a bit weird, and then I revert it to 4k30 where I can get full 12bit colour.
60hz, 12bit colour at HDR seems impossible with an 18GBps cable.
