[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

I also have the 55A6100UW and had the same Netflix issue having to reset the Netflix app very night. Downloaded new firmware from Hisense website and installed via USB. No issues anymore.
How did you get around the .bin issue?

As far as i can remember i copied the .bin file as is onto the USB and then followed the rest of the instructions on the video exactly

Only issue I have with mine is no amazon prime app...
Yea Amazon Prime and the Alexa universe are not for us south africans.
I was told this twice when contacting amazon support about my fire tv cube  I was also told that my cube does not in fact work in my country and that I may not have the app.

The year was end of 2014, possibly start of 2015.

Went to buy a dumb 50" TV, ended up buying the Mid Range Smart 3D Android 50" (The price was around about R10k & The model number eludes me now and for reasons soon to become apparent I am not going to search for it). First one I bought was not properly put together, drove to the Somerset West branch of the store for stock to swap out the TV within the same day.

Owned the second piece of sh#t until the next day (would have returned it the same evening, if the store was still open), when I took it back and got my current LG instead, at a slightly higher price point. All the rest of the Hisense Demo Models (Low to Top of the Line Range) on the shop floor had the same problem with fast moving small objects from an external source disappearing, not to mention the poor sound and built quality (low to mid range models).

I have gone out of my way to avoid buying Hisense at all cost ever since, and will continue to do so for as long as I can, as their products are inferior knockoffs and overstated (specs wise) in my personal opinion.

People felt the same way about samsung phones not too long ago...

Works fine on pc and android devices for me. Its the Hisense smart tv that is the issue.

Amazon Prime as well as the Alexa/firetv addons for hisense tv's are not likely to get onto our tv's as Amazon do not want it to.

If you really want Amazon Prime buy a firetv cube or stick. I love my tv cube for how it has made everything work perfectly from a single remote (or just a voice command).

Samsung's products for the most part is not the problem, they are overpriced and their after-sales/support sucks.

Thus I have steadily been replacing older/broken Samsung tech with other manufacturers' products, I am not saying that I won't buy Samsung, but simply prefer not to...

The A6100 is the replacement for the N3000

Ive had a Hisense 50A6100UW since the beginning of March. The issue with Netflix is super frustrating. I have to log into Netflix almost every day now. It seems that there is some sort of cache issue. Resetting Netflix or clearing the TV cache fixes the issue.

Ive tried to update my firmware with no luck. I downloaded the bin file, copied it to a flash drive and, plugged it into my TV and powered it up holding the power button on the remote. The TV just starts up normally. Trying to update via the menu I get a message claiming the firmware is up to date.

All in all I think the TV is not really that smart. I should have returned it but I guess its too late now.

Would be nice if Hisense can add the version number on their support site. That way I can check whether the firmware on the site is newer than what I have installed.

I eventually bought the 65"A6100UW UHD over the weekend, and coming from an old 51" plasma I am super happy with the TV. I have a Mi Box that runs all my "smart" functions so I don't even touch the smart functions on the TV, but picture (and sound) wise I am very happy!

I might just consider the Mi Box route if there isnt a fix soon.

The firmware file on that site for my tv is a .bin file and not a .pkg as per the description.
Same process?

Does anyone know what the difference between the 65A6130 and 65A6100UW models is? The former is currently on special at Dion Wired but I can't find it on the Hisense website.

As far as I know they are basically the same, also saw both being advertised. Bought mine at Dion Wired for R10 500
