[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

The firmware file on that site for my tv is a .bin file and not a .pkg as per the description.
Same process?
I had the same question and the very unhelpful lady that tries to provide support told me to use the bin file like I would used the .pkg file...

Ive had a Hisense 50A6100UW since the beginning of March. The issue with Netflix is super frustrating. I have to log into Netflix almost every day now. It seems that there is some sort of cache issue. Resetting Netflix or clearing the TV cache fixes the issue.

Ive tried to update my firmware with no luck. I downloaded the bin file, copied it to a flash drive and, plugged it into my TV and powered it up holding the power button on the remote. The TV just starts up normally. Trying to update via the menu I get a message claiming the firmware is up to date.

All in all I think the TV is not really that smart. I should have returned it but I guess its too late now.

Would be nice if Hisense can add the version number on their support site. That way I can check whether the firmware on the site is newer than what I have installed.

Please PM me your contact details so I can get in contact with you.

I have exactly the same probelem. And the I cant do the update on their site either

The update methodology is really silly, unplug it, place in the USB, plug it in and hold button for a few seconds, but the issue is if the TV is wall mounted and pretty flushed with the wall. Makes it quite hard.

I found an option to "check for updates" under my settings, but I havent seen it do anything yet. That will make a lot more sense than the USB approach.

I have 40" Hisense thats about two years old that started to develop bad spots in the edges of the panel itself , doubt its covered under the warrentee so I will probably get a Samsung next time.

Just to add, 99% of the issues Im having is with Netflix and sometimes Showmax. My wife suggested we exit the app (whether it be Netflix, Showmax or DSTV now) first before switching off the TV. Maybe that will help. lets see what happens...

Yup seen that option as well but it doesn't do anything, what's the point of having it? Even with it it would be nice to check from USB. Even my ancient Samsung Bluray player has that and the old Samsung LCD I had, you could choose over the air or USB.

Just an update. A very friendly and helpful guy from Hisense phoned me to try and sort out the issues. He sent me an email with a link to new firmware for my TV. I copied the .bin file to my USB, plugged it into my TV and chose the update from USB option.

So far so good. Ill give some feedback once Ive used the new firmware for a while.

Great support though. THANKS

I will post a picture of what it looks like, can you let me know if it's natural :)

Netflix is a little wonky on my 43A6100UW as well. It's no a big problem for me as I usually watch from a PC connected to the PC.

Software version: VA001.01.00a.10730
Extended Version: 10730

Is there an update available for this model?

Are the HDMI CEC controls still broken with Hiisense? My 55' Smart UHD never played well with my Apple TV unlike my Samsung and LG TVs
