[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

The new Hisense tv that got the least amount of downgrades is the U7G from what Hisense has told me. Still has its VA panel and local dimming zones but lacks any HDMI 2.1 support.
 
Guys I’m looking for a 65” tv with hdmi 2.1 support. Budget about 20k. So far I’m not finding anything. I was hoping the u7g would fall in this range but it doesn’t support hdmi 2.1.

You have to be careful though with this question. You have to consider how many Hisense TV's are being sold versus how many people complain about the panels. Like any product or service, you only hear about it when people have issues.
If you look through this thread alone you will find people that's very happy with their purchase or the product but then you also have those that have had a negative experience with the product.
 
So I had this model for a few years 50A6100UW, my Samsung 2009 model has always been my gaming tv until it gave in. I was quite shocked to find out that this Hisense model does not have a game mode and input lag is crazy high.

That is an entry level model TV.
 

Review of what will be our version of the U7G,seems like the only difference from the US model is the lack of 120hz native.

Just making sure, because it seems misleading to have the model number as U8G on the product page when it's actually a different model, U8GQ. And having had a bad experience with my B7100 which I know is an entry-level tv, I don't want to fall into the same pit wasting my money on something seemingly good which isn't.

It is the U8G.

Some TV's have slight variations in their model numbers depending on the region country, as well as their stands sometimes. If you're looking at the U8G, compare it to the U8QF feature wise to see if its actually worth the extra $$$.

okay awesome, thank you. I'll definitely be doing more research this time round, I mostly jumped at the cheapest, biggest tv I could get with the B7100, not absolutely terrible but I know things could be better especially with FALD. As long as the build quality is decent and the software isn't as clunky and there's little to no backlight bleed or at least uniform, then I'm happy xD

I cant comment on the U8G but I have a 65U8QF and a 65U7QF. The U8QF is a lovely tv! Its very bright, UI is relatively fast and the blacks are impressive. The built in soundbar is muuuch better than any built in TV speakers I've heard. The U7QF is also a good tv but I just feel that for a few thousand extra the U8QF is more worth it as the extra bump in brightness is and local dimming performance is noticeable. Gaming is fine on them but TBH I havent spent hours gaming on either as I have an LG OLED at my primary residence and use that the most. I will say that both the U8QF and U7QF have froze while on YouTube and did require me to turn the power off at the wall to reset the TV. Other than that I just changed the kak remote that came with them to a more premium feeling one. IF the only change between the U8QF and the U8G is VRR, ALLM and eARC, and the U8G cant do 4k 120hz, and you dont require eARC, go for the cheaper U8QF. I picked mine up for R13999 at Hirsch

Get the U8QF, great discounts on it at the moment, spec wise its similar to the U8G, only a few differences. IF you want good UI just get an apple tv.
 
Was really looking forward to the U8G, but it seems like the version we're getting in SA is not the same as the one in the US.

VIDAA vs Android, is that a problem? What other features does it lack? Do I really need to get this TV if I mainly watch Netflix and want to play a casual game every now and then? If I have a Mibox S, will that compensate for the lack of Android TV?

I saw the U8QF at Makro and I was impressed, but from what I read it has some not-so-minor issues, still a good option?

How does the Samsung AU8000, Q60A and Q80T compare?

My budget is R20k max, would appreciate any and all input, thanks!

WHat remote did you get? And where? Cost?
