[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Well according to the hisense website your tv doesn’t have Dolby vision, so just like Samsung any Dolby vision content will show as 4K hdr.
Aaah you are correct. When I was viewing it I didn't see the yes/no.

Is there anyway to get around the purple/pink/green colors from movies encoded in dolby vision on these TV's?

How do you mean?

Does anyone share their experience with a warranty claim from Hisense? Was there any issues?

I've been doing some research and it seems that the best bang for buck TV I can afford will be either the 65U7G or the 65U8G - if anyone has one of these models, could you please give me a bit of a review?

For those talking about good gaming TV, I see Takealot has the LG OLED c1 55" for r20k at the moment.

A year later, after countless hours spent at stores , and online , incl this thread on trying to choose the best TV , the LG OLED I bought at the last minute, has just been absolutely amazing.

I did the same thing and just bit the bullet and bought the c1.

You guys are making me so jealous right now. i want an Oled.

Just do it. The prices aint gonna get better than current.

I believe house and home have the cx for R18k

Lol, I have already bought two TVs in the last 6 months, I only use one, I am not gonna go buy a third. But the prices are tempting right now. Maybe this is a sign that they might be lower next year. Let me wait until then, finances don’t allow right now either way.

I have a LG Oled and it’s fantastic. But the thing about OLEDS is that they are more power hungry than LCDs and if it’s on most of the day like mine, you will see a difference in your electricity bill.

Hi,
I'm looking at replacing my old Series 5 Samsung. I'm going budget (not more than 12k) so was looking at the U6G, AU7000, TU7000, TU8500, NANO75. I have a couple of questions if anybody could help I'd really appreciate it.

I've seen people say Hisense is no good in SA because they're cheaped out versions of the US ones. Is this accurate and does it apply to all the models? Rtings rate the U6G highest out of all the models I've listed above but I never got a Hisense before so I'm hesitant.

I've never bought anything on BF either - what kinda discounts can I expect compared to say the Takealot prices right now? Is it really worth waiting?

Thanks

oh also, I watch a lot of 720 or 1080 so I'd need reasonable upscaling. Which apparently the U6G does well but again, I keep seeing people say they're not the same TV here.

I have a 65A6500UW and quite happy with it. Sound is great. Pretty loud in fact!

But barely use the TV but no issues.

The weirdest thing has happened to my 6 month old 65U7QF. Straight down the middle, from top to bottom, there is a vertical line of sorts - looks like a smudge or faded area that is only visible when TV is off or on a black screen. Would've taken a pic but can't really see it on camera. If I clean it, it goes away but after a few hours the mark comes back. Is this normal?
