[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

My 65U7A finally received an OTA firmware update to M0113 after it came back on after loadshedding. Don't see any difference, still the same. I was really hoping to get a better interface and app store with the update.
Thats never going to happen. Honestly if you want a quality interface just get an apple tv. Hisense tvs should only be used as a display, not for their "smart features". Dont even bother with the interface/vidaa etc. Get an apple tv.

I've had no issues with vidaa on my older N5000 and my newer U7QF. But I would advocate for a TV box as it is just so much easier to navigate.

I don't have any issues with vidaa either, but my expectations of it aren't high that's why I am not disappointed. I don't install or delete apps and I don't mind the blurry interface. But some of these guys expect so much more from vidaa so I suggest they get a separate tv box if they want that sort of flexibility.

Hi all,
Hoping someone can give me some advice on a problem I am experiencing with my Hisense 55A6500UW TV.

When I power it on it shows the Logo splash screen, then the screen goes black and few small lines will appear on the screen moving around as the screen flickers.
I have to unplug it from the wall as the remote and the power button is unresponsive.

Unfortunately I have misplaced the POP so cant follow up with the warranty, and contacting a local TV repair place they told me they don't fix the problem and offered to buy the screen from me for parts...

Has anybody experienced this before and if so could you fix it?
is this from loadshedding

claim from insurance bud

Read my posts in this thread a few pages back (December 2021). I had the exact same model tv. And had the EXACT problem. Took the TV to Hisense Service Centre in Cape Town, they said its the panel and cannot repair due to no panels being available, and replacement panel being 9k.

I searched high and low for my pop, but eventually got a reprint from Game. Used this to get full refund (store credit) and bought the 55u6g.

TV was about 3 years old

Oh goodnesss.... Just read yours... you are right that's the exact same issue, same model, roughly the same age...

And your saga does not bode well for me :(

But if you find your receipt or get a reprint they will have to replace it under warranty.

I currently have the 55" 3D Smart Hisense TV, well the issue I have with it is basically it doesn't have Netflix or Amazon on it. It basically just has Google and a few apps that can be downloaded such as Opera.
Placed it up on gumtree recently.

Thinking of switching to Samsung, also if anyone can recommend a curved TV brand thats really good for streaming movies.

Curved TVs don't really exist anymore, neither do 3D. You could just buy an android TV box and plug it into your TV without having to just replace the Hisense.

Uhm we are not in 2011 anymore. Curved tvs are not a thing anymore.

Give us Budget and requirements.

I got my TV back from Hisense for warranty issues that i posted earlier, They said they couldnt fix the tv because its supposedly moisture damage, yet somehow when i got it back its worse than it was when i sent it to them, Not to mention the screen is also full of scratches now. Yeah i am not happy.

Force them to replace it. They're supposed to take an accurate state of the set when you book it in.

Yeah i am going to do that. It went in with a problem i could actually live with, but now i cant watch it anymore. all the patches on it are distracting and not to mention the scratches on it, I cant unsee them, Its especially worse when the tv is off coz the white scratches pop more on the black screen. This is a 7 month old tv.

Got the OTA update for my 55U7A yesterday. Did solve my blackscreen issues, as others have had, with Netflix and DSTV. Had given up using the TV's apps and was using a 1080p Chromecast, but TV has 4K Netflix and DSTV seems a better resolution too, so using them again. Firmware update for others struggling with the same issue, if you can find one

That’s insane. @Hisense - intervention please.
