[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

For what its worth, I decided to contact Hisense SA earlier this morning about adding support for Disney+ to VIDAA and this was the reply I received:

So it does seem like something is in the pipeline for those that want VIDAA app support for D+ :D
Let's hope so, as it's got no support on Xbox yet either, so basically my TV in the lounge is the only device without access to it.

Thanks for reaching out I seemed to be going around in circles when I was calling around.

Hi everyone, I know there's been a lot of uncertainty about the U8G but has anybody here pulled the trigger on one? I believe there was an update to fix the issues of the refresh rate but you never know with Hisense SA. Looking at getting one for my Xbox Series X but not going to waste my money if I can't use 120Hz.

get a C1

I really really want to but the budget is just a bit tight

Then save up for a few more months, you will regret buying anything but the C1. Hisense will
Give you motion problems and you will
Not enjoy it. Make the right choice now
So you don’t have buyers remorse 1 month later.

I have a weird colour issue with my 55U7QF when using HDMI. The VIDAA software on the TV is old ... no support for new Plex and no Disney+, so I bought an Android TV box. Everthing looks okay once plugged in (menu etc), but as soon as a video starts to play, skintones gets a noticible pink hue and red becomes *really* saturated ... like bleeding saturation. When I change the colour mode, or even replug the HDMI, it 'resets' to normal colour, until a video plays, then this red tint everywhere.

It only appears to happen over HDMI. The Prime and Amazon apps on the TV still works, so I tried that - no issue. I tried changing almost every setting I could find on the Android box, all the resolutions, refresh rates, bit depth, HDR on or off, HDR conversion modes on or off .... everything. I changed HDMI cables, factory reset the TV and Android box ... but the problem still persists.

Plugging it into my DELL display or old Sony Bravia doesn't show the same issue. It's specifically on this Hisense model. Anyone else experience anything like this, or found a solution? I tried both Mi Box S and a Ematic Android box on the TV.

Guess I should've been a little clearer in my original post. This is part of an insurance claim which has paid out 10k and with the U8G being on special for 12k I figured it would be a good idea but after research I found that we once again have been given a rather inferior tv in this country compared to the ones found in America.
I'm considering the C1 but I would only be able to get the 48" which even then would be a tight squeeze as it's on sale for 17k...

Oh I see now, problem with hisense is motion processing, they seem to struggle with fast moving objects, I would especially be worried if you are gaming, C1 is the best for gaming.

The 48” C1 will be perfect for gaming but it might be a tad disappointing when it comes to hdr brightness, it is not as bright as the 55” and up LG OLEDS, however the hisense might look better in hdr due to its good peak brightness. (Motion will still not be as good as LG though) and it is also cheaper, tough one here.

Hi everyone, does anyone know whom can supply or share the link for firmware / driver / software updates for these 2 TV models. 55K3300UW (limited smart tv) and a 55K390PAD (very slow), hope to make better use of these 2 units. Thank you in advance.

Best bet would be to PM @Hisense , but sadly the rep has been AWOL since March. Or contact support via their website. They should give you an indication if they have updated firmwares or not :)

Just got a 85 inch U8G from takealot for R38k to replace my projector. Comparing it to my Samsung Q8C and Samsungs interface and app library is substantially better. So far the only app im missing on the U8G is Disney plus. For the most part the Hisense offers better image quality when you turn all of the processing options off. Our local models seem to differ substantially from models abroad. I would have appreciated the android tv functionality offered in other markets. I havent tested it out on my Xbox series x so not much to say around the 120hz functionality. I am happy that it supports dolby atmos and vision natively. I am seriously disappointed with the support. The Hisense website doesn't have an user manuals or previous firmware versions. Im hoping there is a way to flash another regions firmware to get the added functionality.

Just returned my 65 inch u6g

1. Massive eye strain (Across all presets)
2. Simply too big
3. Motion tracking was not great

Now I'm looking for a 55 inch with better motion tracking (Or whatever it's called)

Any suggestions?

LG a1 is out of budget. Ill be selling this TV say Feb 2023 and don't watch TV every day.

I wish 55" was big enough for me, oh the options!

yap that is the one. It wont be as good as the C1, C1 is simply just boss.
Cool, I love Sony. My 12 year full hd led has never given me any issues. It’s on daily for 6 hrs +
I need to see the pic quality of the LG C1 side by side with the Sony X900.
