[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Hi all
I see Makro, has a 65inch Android Toshiba Z770KN, for R18999.00,
it has ultimate motion 120hz; Fald; Qled; Dolby Vision; Imax enhanced;
Dolby Atmos; ALLM.
I know that, Hisense owns Toshiba, but are their TV's any good.
Thanks
Looks promising but the price has not been adjusted yet. Will be around R15k soon.

Just ordered a Hisense 65U8G from Makro for R12999 (Looks like it's sold out now) What your guys opinion on the build and picture quality?

That is a good price for the 65”. I only have the U8QF so I can only comment on it, Build quality of the tv is good, Vidaa ui is very blurry, so if you are coming from a Samsung/lg/Sony it might freak you out and you might think something is wrong with your tv, but that is normal, for a better experience you can solve this by getting an external box.

Now picture quality is both good and average depending on the app, Netflix is awesome, Picture quality here is very good, especially in DV, the tv also gets very bright. Amazon is also
Good, however on YouTube it’s either a hit or miss, I see motion blur here and there, I never see any of this on Netflix, Some 1080p videos look like they are 720p, maybe it’s just my eyes or it might be affected by the camera that was used to capture the particular video, even though I hate my Samsung 43Tu7000 I still think it performs better on YouTube, picture quality seems to be way better on it on YouTube however the hisense wins on Netflix.

Overall with hisense I think you get what you pay for, there are really good deals that pop by every now and then and when you look at the price you paid, you end up looking past the faults. Great tv for the price and I hope you enjoy it.

The Toshiba Z770 55inch is a 8Bit with FRC, Peak brightness 1000nits,
the 65inch is a 10Bit, Peak brightness is also 1000nits, both have HDMI 2.1 and 120hz motion.
Both are only available at Makro.

Howzit people
What do you guys think of new Hisense U7H? It looks like we getting the same panels as the US?

Good day - Recently bought the Hisense U8G 55". Currently running the most updated VIDAA 5.0 Software. Using Netflix out of the Box has motion blur and stutter. Any advice on how to resolve this, or any suggestions on what picture settings you run on will be appreciated.

I wouldn't trust the houseandhome site. Rather look at the actual hisense site for confirmation.

what does this mean LG rep

HDMI 2.1 (ALLM EARC)*

Support HDMI2.1 specifications: ALLM, eARC, VRR* Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) allows the ideal latency setting to be automatically set, allowing for smooth, lag-free and uninterrupted viewing and interaction. VRR reduces or eliminates lag, judder and frame tearing for more fluid and better detailed gameplay. VRR enables a gaming source, such as a console or computer, to deliver video frames as fast as it is capable of, which in many cases is slower than the normal static refresh rate. *This model does not include an HDMI2.1 port, it only supports some elements of HDMI 2.1 capabilities.

laymans terms- It means once again HiCrapsense has lied about the features and specs on their tv same way they lied about 120hz.

How did they lie if that is in the actual web page? It seems House and home have got the wrong info? Where did they lie about 120hz?

The HDMI 2.1 specification is comprised of a number of features.

Some TV's support all features while some only support a few.

The most key is 48Gbps bandwidth support which allows a for a 4K@120hz 4:4:4 signal to be sent through the TV. This 4K@120hz is what most of us are accustom to thinking when seeing HDMI 2.1.

ALLM, eARC, VRR and Dynamic HDR are some of the other HDMI 2.1 features.

Yes its extremely disappointing to list HDMI 2.1 as feature when the TV doesnt support 4K@120hz but at least they specify both in the ad and on the website which HDMI 2.1 features it does support.

Hope this helps :)

I do believe this TV is a 120hz panel, but because the model only have hdmi 2.0 it won’t support that refresh rate when a media player or for instance a console is connected to it.
This refresh might only be supported with the built-in apps or apps you can download straight to the tv…
I might be wrong.
But I’m sure they are not lying as some claims.

Is there ANY resource in South Africa that can deliver reliable and trustworthy information about the devices that are available to us in the SA market. Hisense and others using the same marketing works and model numbers as the clearly superior US/EU products is downright dirty and they should be called out on.

I'm hoping that TCL does not follow in the footsteps of Hisense

I dont know what you are so mad about, Hisense is a crap chinese brand that offers a lot for the money, same as Haval, you simply get what you pay for, If you want premium service and a TV that isnt gimped then cash out and get an LG C1. TCL is also another crap cheap brand so goodluck with that . Speak with your money.

Why do you even comment here? Is LG paying you? If you don't like something, move along wow.
Most of this thread has just been you moaning about Hisense and praising another TV as if it's the 2nd coming.

There is no truth, you just harp on and on about LG.
Just move on, you got a dud, not everyone wants or can afford the magical C1, you're starting to sound like PostmanPot and his love of the Samsung Plasma
