OLED all day everyday. It is not even a contest.

LG CX/C1/C2. Now this will be a successful mancave!

The e-arc works great, there is a 3 second delay to switch over which my LG didn't have, but I think its due to the android being more responsive it continues on the last app, where my LG didn't it would suspend the previous app and media that played.

Oled would be great there
 
Thanks, so OLED is better in a dark room, only problem is,
i will not be able to afford a 65inch model, so will have to
be happy with a smaller size, which i might regret later.

If you enjoy the finer things in life, the picture quality will make up for it. You can also sit closer.

If you prefer quantity over quality, consider a 65" with 120Hz. The above Toshiba looks worthy of consideration, but you did not hear that from me.

Rather sit closer then. You will see imperfections with QLED especially in a dark room. They sometimes have the CX 65' for R30k. but you will need to be patient and check sites everyday until you find a good deal.

Not might, you will want a 65" down the line if you get a 55" OLED.

Otherwise, if budget is a concern, wait until the TCL C835 comes out here and check a 65" in that. Its got pretty great reviews online.

I've got the z770 65". Massive upgrade from my older LG, especially the full array dimming, brightness, HDR and colouring. No photo I take will do it justice, so I'd definitely advise going to have a look at your local Makro.
I can't comment on the built in sound bar, I use the JBL and in comparison the built-in without sub doesn't sound as good. Ticks I think all of the XBOX Series X boxes.

The android OS also perfect, I can sideload my usual apps and so far it seems very smooth. Except for the DSTV app, not sure if its just android but the quality not that good, but it might be unrelated to the TV, haven't used the app in a while. Watched some stuff on Dolby Vision as well and was stunning.

The manual is not well documented, so for instance it took me couple of minutes to figure out I need to set HDMI to enhanced mode to enable the 120hz for the Xbox.

Other than that, i think for the price its a very good deal, not sure if you'll find an 65" 120hz panel, android OS, quantum dot colors, 1000 nits brightness and hdmi 2.1 for R18999. For me its a m0erse upgrade compared with my older TV so i only have nice things to say. Let's hope no issues with it and it lives a long and happy life.

Thanks for the review. I didn't even know Toshiba was back in the country! These do like like good alternatives. I've been holding our for TCL for an affordable gaming TV but they're taking forever and seem to be a bit clueless and useless

how is the black level on toshiba when watching in the dark?

It really depends on what you watching, if it has HDR, Dolby Vision and the quality. If you have something for me to check with i can do so?
To my eyes, black pretty much looks black, except if watching some lower quality stuff or none HDR/Dolby vision content then yo can see more grey creeping in. I think it also depends on how you've configured the array dimming. Not played around with that yet.

Do you use it for gaming? That would be my primary use and if you do, I'd really appreciate your feedback

Can you maybe watch an episode of expanse if it is possible?

Was going to buy the LG but at 2.5K cheaper (and 2K cheaper than the normal price on the Hisense) it was a no-brainer.

Seems ok - haven't really put it through it's paces.

This is an entry level tv with no HDR capabilities, we dont even need a review because we already know how it will perform.

I usually watch movies in 1080p HDR. I don’t have any low quality content… 1080p +…

I'm sure I saw somewhere that it does have HDR.

Doesn't really matter though - I'm not going to be watching TV on it :ROFL: - and it's a damn sight better than the old 19voetsek 40" Samsung that she had

yeah the box says HDR but it is just a marketing tactic. It doesnt actually have any HDR capabilities. I hope she enjoys it though, hopefully she doesnt care about its drawbacks else she might disown you.
