Hi all
Would you say, the benefits of a 120Hz panel, far outweigh the price difference,
between it and a 60Hz panel and are these differences very noticeable, or are
they more dependent on what you are using the tv for.
Only really noticeable for gamingHi all

Yeah although check motion handling if you’re a sports fanatic, or else you’ll see a lot of blurry legs and arms. A 120hz panel often means good pixel response times even at 60hz for example, but there definitely are 60hz screens that are good enough. So a 60Hz panel should be fine for watching only sport and blu-ray movies,
i don't do gaming.

I've read that Hisense outside of the USA sometimes has specs listed that are not true. Are you sure the U7H has 4k120hz and local dimming?
You could put on some of the post processing motion controls, they've improved those so they aren't all like soap opera effectsYeah although check motion handling if you’re a sports fanatic, or else you’ll see a lot of blurry legs and arms. The internals do differ between countries. The review here is South African.I've read that Hisense outside of the USA sometimes has specs listed that are not true.
Was watching a review on the U7H (from a USA creator) and they said that outside the USA, the model number may be the same, but the specs different, even through they are listed.
I'm thinking of getting the U7H but now not sure whether to trust if it actually has 120hz and local dimming.
Anyone have one that can confirm?
Came across that review after posting and he does seem very happy with the TV still. The internals do differ between countries. The review here is South African.
The biggest difference between the US and South African u7h is the American version has android and more than double the amount of local dimming zones. It also seems our panel is ADS instead of VA so depends on your preferences... I'd go try the tv out in person if you can.
The 55" has 32. As for panel the hisense website says ADS, might be wrong I guess https://hisense.co.za/products/hisense-55u7h-quantum-120hz-uled-4k-tv/.Came across that review after posting and he does seem very happy with the TV still.
What's odd though is that when looking at the specs on local websites it shows correctly that our variant only have 32 dimming zones (eg: https://www.hirschs.co.za/hisense-65-quantum-uled-tv-65u7h) but also shows that it is a VA panel.
But yeah think I need to go see it in person. Either way probably going to be way better than my six year old LG.
Odd that the only one of the website that doesn't have the 'View Specs' option is the 65".The 55" has 32. As for panel the hisense website says ADS, might be wrong I guess https://hisense.co.za/products/hisense-55u7h-quantum-120hz-uled-4k-tv/.
It probably is a good choice, I tried it in makro but funnily picked the Toshiba with the same panel because it did slightly better at upscaling older content and android.
Is the Hisense a8g 60hz?There are three options for sport:
1. Plasma which is no more, and which some people have still kept going – might be possible to find a used 51” or larger FAULL HD plasma
2. LED-LCD with motion enhancements which tend to make the picture look fake
3. OLED which is like the successor to plasma.
If you cannot afford 3, then 2 is your only option. Since 120Hz LED-LCDs cost more, I would take 60Hz OLED (Hisense A8G / LG A1) over 120Hz LED-LCD, for sport.
Tafelberg have the 55” A8G at R10,999.
The scary thing is the A8H is already out, which is an improvement on this one.Is the Hisense a8g 60hz?
I read a south african review that says it's native 120hz.

I remember reading that it was 60Hz but come to think of it it might be that it just does not have HDMI 2.1 ports? Might have been one of @Lupus posts? Is the Hisense a8g 60hz?
