I remember reading that it was 60Hz but come to think of it it might be that it just does not have HDMI 2.1 ports? Might have been one of @Lupus posts?

Either way, it’s ‘the one’ for sport on a budget.

The website says it does, but the processor might say differerntly

I'm looking at getting the 65U7H.

I'm basing my comparisons using the info on Rtings: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/u7h

Can anyone confirm if the model on Rtings is the same as the one we have locally? If not, what are the differences?

Like, Samsung 65Q60B vs Hisense 65U7H, the Hisense comes ahead on Rtings... but is that because they get a better version overseas?

Just jumped on the 65” A8H at R22,999 from Takealot. Again, a steal for an OLED of this size.

My concern is its brightness said to be under 200 nits (peak at 800 nits) in that it’s replacing a Samsung 65” QLED in a bright room (lounge). But I’ve always run it on movie mode with low brightness settings as we have curtains on all windows (and 6m of glass sliding doors which face west), and mainly watch at night.

Will be using an Apple TV 4K 2022, so Vidaa 6.0 is not a concern.

Hoping it works out. Thankfully I’ll just return it to Takealot if too dim.

Will report back with technical analysis and compare with the QLED, as well as our LG 55CX/48C1.

I would not normally go for Hisense, but at R12k - R24k (Black Friday - normal price) cheaper than the LG 65” C1/CS, it’s worth a gamble!

Nice back to the pre-black friday price . Damn still 2k less then I paid. But I guess I paid 2k for instant gratification.

Generally things like HDR wouldn't be handled as well, may be fluidity (not the usual OLED judder upwards)

Cool, not too fazed about that. Do you have the full specs, chip, etc. of the A8H?

One thing that irks me about Hisense is the regional difference in specs and seeming difficulty in finding technical specs.

It's supposed to be the mediatek 9900 series, which came out in late 2019 or so.

Nope the Novatek is the older one, also seems to pop up in the cheaper models, so it seems U7 upwards has Mediatek 9900.
The complaints for motion issues were on the Novatek

I do movies & Xbox gaming 50/50 so is a toss up between great quality and larger screen
Can get the 75 U7H for R1000 cheaper than the A8H from Takealot atm.

I'd say go with the oled.
65" is a good size Especially for oled, it definitely has better quality...overall better bang for your buck. 65" oled screens don't come cheap compare to lcd.

Similar boat to you so will feed back once 65A8H has arrived. Suggest purchasing fun the meantime before price goes back up to +-R28k.
