[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

A8H FTW!!!
Same processor MT9900, but oled panel's picture quality will be way better, perfect blacks, no blooming.
Yeah that no blooming is kinda weird to get used to now, I mean my old ULED didn't have a lot, but now watching it vs the OLED I can see it.

There's also the LG A1 55" for 15k at the moment. Anyone an idea of how that performs compared to the A8H? Particularly in the motion department using the TVs processing/software :) It's between these 2 for me at the moment

Edit: I had Makro play a 4k HDR mkv file for me directly via USB on the A1 and it was smooth on the Filmmaker setting, but nowhere near as bright as I had on the U7H. But motion trumps brightness for me for sure
If you don’t need HDMI 2.1/120Hz then get the LG.

Hi. I've been reading this thread as I'm looking for a TV for R15k and just made an account to post here. I think I've narrowed it down to either the 65" U7H or the 55" A8H. My viewing distance is 3.2m. Any advice as both these are R15k on takealot at the moment?
I'm in the same boat. Oled for the blacks. Uled for the brightness. Can't decide

Thanks. I was leaning towards the OLED. I also have a PS5 so I didn't consider the LG A1 as it doesn't have 120Hz. I ended up getting the A8H off takealot. Only coming next week though because of delivery delays in Cpt.

The A8H is extremely bright – I need to turn brightness down at night when gaming (Game Mode). Even ‘Cinema Day’ is bright at night. :) And I’m thoroughly satisfied for watching during the day in a very bright room with large windows directly in front of it. I was worried about ditching my QLED, but could not be happier.

Nice one. Still need to unbox my PS5, but I have no doubt you’ll be thrilled. Seen my Xbox One X pics and video on the 65A8H? Feels just as good as my Series X on LG CX.

Look from my perspective it's not as bright as my ULED, but it's not ever going to be, but it is well bright enough for what it needs to be. Though I do have the OLED backlight on 100% where as on my ULED the backlight sits at 50.
What I do love is the inky blackness it's bizarre after so many years of not having plasma or CRTs. I mean the LCDs have gotten better over the years but still a little grey.

My personal opinion is the following:

The LG OLED Tv's are the best, but, the pricing is more "hype driven"...Seen prices of the A1 55" now only reaching R15k... Retailer that still have stock of the C1 55" ask the same price as the 2022 CS6, seen some people even ask basically the same price for the 48" C1 than the 55" CS6 lol.

At makro the price dropped to 14999(A1) vs 15999(C1) 55"....now again, who in their right mind will buy the A1 then...Sadly no stock of the C1 with them anymore!

But everybody has their price/budget...The A8H 55" is the best deal for a future proof TV in my eyes, has all the bell's and whistles, slight motion handling issues(Can be corrected, or minimized), but at least it's not made from the same plastic as a ice cream bucket like the U7H lol.

The A8G is the "tooth fairy" to me, could be a myth, can't find any reviews on them, most hisense rep's don't even know of it's existence, but they can be bought for almost 5k less than the "Touchable" A8H...It could be a good tv for the price, or turn up to be a waste of money(Only to be sold on gumtree/FB MP later).

Too many choices I think between the R10k to R15k bracket...Anycase, enough said...Voices in my head will continue their "TV discussions".

Ya I checked out your content. Those Fortnite pics look amazing. Excited for mine. It's coming next Wednesday and I'm busy playing Gow ragnarok. Might have to put that on pause till the TV comes.

Wow. Didn't know the C1 drops to R16k.

Yeah look I appreciate that others are enjoying various Hisense models, including the U7H, but I'm likely heading over to Samsung (the Q60b would save some bucks, or the Q70a would match what I paid for the U7H)... Or if I can bite th bullet, LG A1 will be an extra 2k, C1 an extra 3k... In which case the C1 should be the obvious choice

Hoping I was just unlucky with the U7H, because I cant see how a TV can be released with the performance I experienced ;)
Yeah i personally would take The U7H and deal with its motion issues over those samsungs you just listed. You will not get any HDR from them whatsoever and they are way over priced for what you get. The LG A1 is also pretty dim so i would give it a skip. C1 is where its at if you can find one.

Does anyone’s A8H bezel seem wider on the left than on the right? Is this pixel shift?

I had that when I tested my Xbox and was setting the safe zone borders. Left was not getting to the side and right was under the bezel. Freaked me the f out. Switched everything off, changed cables, plug back in and same, got old cable on different port and nothing.
Was ready to log a return request and admit defeat here but then it went away by itself.
So yes I think it might be the pixel shift, and damn its a lots of pixel it moves around for this it that is what it was.

Just got me a Hisense Laser Tv 100 inch. OMG :eek::eek::eek:.
Now to watch Lord of Rings Films, Star wars, Matrix in 4k HDR 10BIT.

:love::love::love::love::love::love::love:

Side note, this sells for R36000, picked it up second hand for R4500 on Facebook Market place. Tested everything and still has 1 year warranty left.

I tested the Samsung options at Makro and agree that those wouldn't really be worthwhile. I also tested the A1 and again agree that it is rather dim, but the once in a blue moon that my 1-year-old allows me to watch a movie, it'll be a properly dark living room, so think I'll get away with it

Although I don't need the gaming specs of the C1, I would definitely have taken one if I could find one
