[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Stolen!!!!!!!!!

Yep, FB marketplace is swarming with people selling stolen goods, it’s all too easy. Anyone for an iPhone 13 Pro for R2500, mint… but it’s iCloud locked, very unfortunate.

Yeah I see so in the review, FreakBoy I think did it on his A8H as well, I've been running Dolby vision custom anyway so don't think I had IQ running.
It’s amazing how bad Dolby enhancements actually seem to be? I thought they were the gold standard.

Yup it really is scary, though I do love Dolby V by itself :-). For sound I'm actually at a toss up between Atmos and DTS-X

So on my side I watched Venom - Carnage and Edge of tomorrow on the U7QF as it's in the family lounge last night, I mean sure it's not bad, it's really not, but were the blacks always that squashed in places??

Going to have to play around with the menu options. This will be my first Hisense, but on my old LG I had turned off as much processing/TruMotion etc. settings as possible, and that worked out best.

Good luck :-) just fiddle but there are some who are sensitive to it.

Yes switch to Dolby Custom and set all the motion setting off. IQ is "nice" to play with for the brightness and contract and and and it changes, but it changes to much stuff for my liking and screws around with the motion settings. I showed my white my settings in one of her shows on Netflix, then changed to IQ and replayed. She said some of the colours looked better but hated the motion smoothing settings it now implemented. Going back to my Custom setting and fine tuning some more and now everybody is happy.

Stay away from the IQ, that for the average user that doesn't know what they want and just want pictures to be bright and colours to pop.

Having come from the previous Hisense 55u8600 QLED to now owning this TV, the 55u8hq mini-LED is definitely excellent, especially at this price!

The levels of brightness is second to none. Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, DTS Virtual X (Which i prefer as it creates a 3D surround effect) IMAX and FilmMaker Picture modes, HRD10, VRR, ALLM, FreeSync, 4k 120hz, HDMI 2.1, 112 Local Dimming Zones on the 55inch, 2 upward firing speakers, 2 downward firing and 2 forward firing and a nice touch with the built-in "subwoofer" at the rear makes this probably the best overall bang-for-buck at the moment, in my opinion (To each their own). It competes with much higher priced Samsung, LG and TCL models.

PS5 gaming experience is fantastic. With the HDMI 2.1 inputs I get 4k 120hz, VRR functions great and you are able to check the refresh rate by pressing the "info" button on the tv remote. Rachet and Clank Dimension apart is an easy example to verify the ever constant variable refresh rates up to 120fps.

Due to the new base stand design, it also allows for the hiding of cables within the rear cover to combine and hide them from hanging loosely on the rear.

LG A1 OLED is R13999 at Incredible as well, or slightly more at Game R16999...But use the price match from game, plus the extra 10% discount of the difference between the their price and Incredible...

R16999 - R13999 = R3000 x 0.1(10%) = R300, R13999 less R300 = R 13699 lol.

Now the question...The A1 VS U7H/U8H/A8H, is the R1300 saving from the monster A8H enough to push one to buy the A1 over the Oled Hisense?

All are great.. LG is known for brilliant OLED... but it all depends what you want it for. If i am not mistaken it doesn't have HDMI 2.1 so no 4k 120hz support but if that's not one of your "needs to have" items, still a good option. Also, if you dont have a very brightly lit room, it should be fine as the LG isnt the brightest.

Now I'm tempted by the U8H. I've been eyeing it for a while. I'd consider the A1 if I weren't a gamer
