[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

How did you get the firmware upgrade via USB?
Put the PKG file on a FAT 32 Formatted Flash Drive and do a manual update via System Update > From USB

Remember it will "Factory Reset" the TV, so need to login everywhere again...

Bought a sony x90j. Slightly bummed I couldn't go oled but bigger size came first. The picture is absolutely fantastic. Im in love.

Had a weird issue on my 65A8H this morning.

It turned itself on, the screensaver was on the screen.
The power button on the remote didn't work, all other buttons did. Could not switch off via the VIDAA app either, pressing the powerbutton had no effect.

Eventually switched it off via the buttons at the back of the TV.

I'm thinking of buying the u8k anything I should look out for. Does anyone have any experience with the u8k.

My use case is pc gaming. I'm running a 3080ti so at least I'm kind of sorted on the gpu side of things.

It's between the u8k, u7k and TCL c745, c845

u8k is not OLED vs MiniLED (c845). Also what is your budget? Waiting for Black Friday? Don't think anyone on this forum has experience with the TLC. ViDAA on Hisense is OK but very limited app store (but OK if you just want to Game probably).

65 or 55 inch will also determine what is available.

Can go max 55" but the best will be 48" and max of ±R15K but if you can go under let's about R13K will be even better.

I want to have 144hz at 4k and have decent HDR.

Don't think he'd want a OLED for PC work, though I'm not sure the 3080ti hdmi port allows 144hz?
Okay says it's hdmi 2.1
Outputs
1x HDMI 2.1
3x DisplayPort 1.4a

Also been eyeing the U8K 55”.. let us know if you end up buying it

TCL are as scares are Hen's teeth (good ones)... They keep advertising but nobody has stock... Maybe keeping for #BlackFriday?

I have U7H - 55" and 120Hz (don't play games, but TV is nice, bright and I am happy).. Yeah finding the right screen is always a matter of a) Preference, b) Availability and c) Price.. Good luck!

I gave them a call and they said the c745 will be available end of October

Will do so. I've been looking at monitors and tv's and the input lag is almost the same these days unless you spend a **** load of money on a monitor yes then it's good but with a tv you get more for your money.

I also don't worry much about smart functions because I will use my pc to view content anyway,

the 65" is in stock with takealot https://www.takealot.com/hisense-65...ni-led-pro-uled-tv-with-quantum-/PLID93652463

I will buy from my supplier as I can get it cheaper there anyway. but can only get hisense from my supplier

TVs totally suck as monitors.

No auto off/on, horrible pixel density, and even with 4:4:4 fonts look bad, and this was on a 43” 4K tv.

Lovely to game on though.

the reason why text look bad is because they use a bgr layout and not rgb subpixel layout

Anybody know if our U7K is the same panel as the US one? Cant find any info..

Looks like a good contender for me for a black friday special.

More than likely no

Ugh, I also have that suspicion. Don't want to end up with a kak panel. I believe it's quite similar to the U8K, with slightly nerfed colour output
Yeah the 7 series is always just a step or so behind the 8, but I don't think the panel will be kak

Hey guys,

I've been reading this forum for a while now as I'm looking for a new TV.

Particularly a TV that's going to be decent for gaming. I currently have a U6G. I'll be looking at around 12k. I see that the U8H is on sale for R9999, for the 55". I know it's not the US version but in terms of the local model and gaming, would this be a good deal?

I've also been tracking the A8H and hoped to get a deal for one over the festive period.

What do you guys think? Would obviously love and LG but I don't have that budget.

Thanks for your time.

Mat.
