[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

I remember last year when the U7H came out, it was around R14-15K the first few months and now its sitting at R8k. Imagine the U7K in a few months if its already at R11k. According to the specs on TAL the 55" U7K has 240 local dimming zones which is not bad at all for a budget gaming tv. Hope it drops more soon.

i've been searching for the 65

I'm gonna pollute the Hisense thread :p

If you want to future proof your new TV a bit and can stretch your budget I'd also suggest looking at this option from Makro : https://www.makro.co.za/electronics...5cm-65-android-uhd-tv/p/000000000000439837_EA

sorry ...... BUT if Toshiba TVs are like Toshiba Hard drives then they are utter absolute garbage and total balls - you are just throwing your money away on anything Toshiba IMHO - in fact you are better off starting a big bonfire and throwing your money into it rather than buying anything that is Toshiba .... oh sorry - you just did that if you bought anything Toshiba, and personally i will never ever make that mistake ever again

Weird, the reliability stats on Toshbia drives don't necessarily agree with your stance.

But even if Toshiba TVs were made by Toshiba, you are aware the technology is very different and would be made in a different factory entirely.

As an aside, I love it when people tar a large manufacturer with this broad brush when they've probably had 2 or 3 units of a very specific item have issues.

I bought a Yamaha motorbike that was terribly unreliable, meaning I'll never buy a yamaha sound system... Totally the same right?

Yamaha audio equipment is not something i would personally buy either

they are reliable because they are so damn slow - anything that is that slow wont break easily ..... but those drives are still sch!t gone bad for months

Well if you buy a shyte slow 5400rpm spinning disk and expect it to be fast thats not Toshiba's fault now is it?

well Seagate and Western Digital drives with almost identical specs copy stuff at around 20 to 30 times faster - so its not the spec at fault ;) and yes you said it .... Toshiba drives are utter shyte

Any one have issues with their U8QF 55" freezing when watching DSTV now? Mine works for about 2-5 minutes then it just stops working, displaying what looks like a corrupt MP4 encode with no more movement or sound. Netflix also introduces the odd black frame. Never had this issue before, but about a year ago it must have updated to a new firmware and now Im stuck with these issues. Is there anywhere I can get new firmware that will fix these issues, or do I need to contact Hisense SA? @Hisense South Africa

I've had the Hisense D36 50 led for about 3 years. It's been pretty decent but I'm feeling the need to upgrade :)
Wow sense this quote over 6 years ago :). The Hisense 50D36p which I gave to a friend in 2021, they're still using it in their bedroom.
In 2018 I got the 58N5000 which was alright, not the greatest TV but it did it's job till March of 2021, where it moved to the room and has been since. The Hisense 65U7QF replaced it in March of 2021 and once I got settings right and Dolby Vision sorted, it turned out to be way way better then the 58N5000.
For awhile in 2021 we also did have a 58 Sinotec my wife got after her mom past, it was probably equivalent of the 58N5000 just with a thinner bezel and ran Android TV 11.
Sound was terrible though like really terrible, so in July of 2022 I saw the Hisense 65A8H and was like sold. Bought it and it's probably been the best of the TVs besides it's mainboard packing up in December but that was probably due to the power cable being crimped.
The 65U7QF is still the daily driver though, it replaced the Sinotec in the main lounge and it's the one we watch the most, for some reason in 2020 when everyone got stuck at home, it seems we all stopped watching in the TV lounge, so the A8H only gets used about 10 hours a week if that.

I bought the 65 A8H early last year, it's been amazing and it's used easy 5 hours a day, no issues at all to date.

I would, but we sit in the main lounge and that's where the U7QF
