[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Quick update.
A while back I posted asking about a Hisense TV. Thanks @Lupus and @ands45 for the replies and suggestions. I eventually settled on this :

eBucks came in handy.

A quick review, it's a pretty decent TV for the price. Some detail does get lost in very dark scenes which is about its biggest flaw, the sound is decent for a TV, certain better than my LG but they still TV speakers. Fast motion is handled fair well and upscaling of lower quality streams is surprisingly decent. Overall I'm very happy.

Even at this price point TVs have clearly come a long way since I last bought 6 years ago
Plus that's a mid range release not even a high to mid. The quality of TVs has definitely improved over the years. Odd that you lose the details in the dark? Have you fiddled with settings?

I am using the Hisense 50" TV - 50A6100UW and after clearing the cache, the SmartOne IPTV App has disappeared. Its doesnt even appear on the App Store on the TV. Any ideas on how to get this App back.I called the Hisense Call Centre and they cannot assist me.

Not really no, it's on my never ending todo list. It's not terrible but certainly could be better

Sadly I think you're out of luck, as the TV is rather old so the app may be gone now :-(.
Or you could try change your region to see if that brings up the app in the app store.
Go to sound balance, type in 1969 a big green M will appear on the screen, this is the service menu so be careful, look for region and change it to perhaps UK and see.

How long after the M does it prompt the region screen.

Does anyone by any chance have one of the Hisense Laser projectors?

They are starting to look extremely appealing and I'm even starting to consider stepping away from OLED to make it happen in the next year or two.

The newer versions apparently don't need to be in as much of a dark room as previous ones, but yeah no don't have one.

Yeah I mean if I do decide to go this way it would be an ALR screen and everything, but ultimately most of my watching is at night and if I really need to I close the blinds anyway because the reflection off the TV can be just as bad, which is kind of why I started thinking along these lines.

Planning to smartify my new blinds as well so I can just say "Siri, let's watch a movie" and magic will happen.

Will I really see difference between Qled vs UHD or is it just marketing gimmick?
Gut tells me to stay away from anything not googletv as well as like was said, want to use it as smart TV

You can't compare QLED vs UHD as they are two different things.

QLED is the type of light diode on the panel. UHD is the resolution.

Did you mean QLED vs LED/OLED?

Do you mean uled and qled? If so not really that much

Watched YouTube video on differences, so have slightly better understanding.
Qled or Qad etc seems many have different names.

TCL tv’s seem decent with google tv incl
