Okay my petrol pump needs to be covered in fuel to keep it cool, is that another myth?

Your fuel pump, the low pressure in tank one anyway isn't always fully submerged in fuel but the fuel does help keep it cool.

All I know is that there was a Youtuber that bought an i30n and drove it full to empty over and over all over the country and the fuel pump died. Was replaced under warranty.

Empty empty? Or empty as in 0km range left? I know a guy who di 190km past 0km range on a 9n Polo TDi, ran out of fuel driving in to teh fuel station, filled up, primed the in tank pump a few times, started teh car and drove off without issue. He still has the car and it is close to 500k km's from what I remember...

On Friday the Shell in Hugo St Goodwood and the Total at N1 City were out of fuel. Today when I drove past that Shell they were fairly busy.

They fill up on the 1st and they still have half a tank left.

Could be because we also pay more here for fines then in the rest of SA.

Hyundai, @epah 's hyundai is made from cardboard on the outside, now you're telling me the inside is made from the same material? I've been driving my cars full to empty for years and I've never had an issue like that, and I've done a combined 800k+ km.
