Pets

3 dogs, two cats, a fishtank.
Used to have an african grey (rehomed because it kept attacking me) and a beardie (rehomed because it kept attacking my wife)

How big are your pleco's? Do you keep them with the koi? I thought they need a tropical tank setup?

I have two plecos in my tank. They're about 30cm each. Maybe more. Got them at less than 5cm long each.

Currently have the following. Or should I say, I pay for the following pets my wife and son has......
3 x dogs, 1 Pug, 1 Jack Russel and 1 Pug/Jack Russel cross( guess how that happened.....)
1 x budgie
1 x Ringneck Parrot, which I am convinced was spawned in the deepest pits of hell and sent to torment me.....

Used to have 20+ tarantulas, but had to give them up a while back.

I need to move to somewhere where I can get me some ferrets.

Two days ago I also became a hedgehog owner!

While it is true that they can carry Salmonella poisoning, the same is true for raw eggs and chickens. That is why you wash your hands afterwards. That said, the risk of poisoning is small and rare. Also, like Superjakes said, they aren't rodents. They are more closely related (phylogenetically) to elephants, so a rodent specialist would not necessarily be a specialist about hedgehogs. As for bathing in their urine....I have yet to see or hear about that among hedgehog owners. But then again, most hedgehog owners do not leave puddles of urine lying around for their pets to "bathe" in.

Aside from my new hedgie I also have Pomeranian and Pekingese dogs, as well as 11 Chickens :)

Do you have him in a pen/cage? How big is it?

Actually interesting enough hedgehogs have natural immunity to most poisons, they like foul tasting stuff especially any thing that will ward off any lice, flies or other pests, and will chew whatever they find, and make lots of saliva which they lick onto there spiny fur.

It might be why they use their own urine when other substances aren't available. While they have Immunity to most poisons even snake vemon, they aren't immune to insects which have ingested poisons.

While Hedgehogs might be cool, I would really like a ferret as a pet.

Ours live in a big plastic crate at the moment (the type with the handles and lids), but we saw a rabbit cage over the weekend that will undoubtedly be a big upgrade. They don't need a lot of space, just a wheel to run on at night.

Basically this:

100x60x50 dimensions.
