I was walking through a big pet shop yesterday in search of worms for a little animal. It got me wondering what kind of pets do we keep, like, dislike and what would we recommend to others along with pet type advice.

I live in a complex, so a dog isn't an option. I also don't like cats. We used to keep tropical fish, but it was really high maintenance and a money pit. Lately, my wife has bought two hedgehogs. Anybody interested in seeing them?

So, what (pets) do you have?
 
Sun Conure ( small parrot )
2 x Cats ( stray kittens now raised )
3 x Dogs ( 1 x Jack Russel - puppy purchased , 1 x Corgi/Terrier - Rescue Dog from a friend, 1 x Alsatian\Husky - Taken in from a family who couldn't keep her.
 
we have 3 cats.

low maintence. they clean themselves, and dig a hole, so no clean up there.
occasional bird corpse, or lizzard body left for us to find though.


but mostly the cat will come cuddle if it is cold. or if they want a cuddle. the rest of the time they will leave you alone unless they want food....
 
Also living in a complex but we're allowed pets. I have 2 small dogs. I had to have my cat put down last year April and I'm not keen on getting another one until I'm more financially stable.

I'd love to have bearded dragons but I'm a wuss when it comes to feeding times (I don't like insects) so that's not viable at all.

I had fish when I was much younger, they kept dying, won't get again
 
In a complex but we get away with 4 dogs and a cat at the moment.
 
Not allowed any in my complex.

Yes, I would like to see the hedgehogs :D
 
Two Great Danes, one cat, and two hamsters.
 
2 Dogs.... cost me an absolute fortune at the moment, but they are totally worth it.

Little shytes though.

3 Dogs 1 x Chinese Crested 1 x Boerboel/Ridgeback 1x Great Dane/Boerboel.
1 Cat - Persian
1 Parrot - African Grey
1 Outside rehabilitation cage for wild birds ie - Muisvoels, Bullbull etc.
 
So cute! Love the highlights, but I think he'd look good with red hair. Give it a try :D
 
- 2 Pekingese, 2 Sausage dogs, 1 Staffie (rescued)
- 7 Koi, 2 Pleco Leopard Hifin (fish)

Had 2 potbellied pigs once. Loved them to bits, but was forced to give them away due to circumstances.
Wouldn't recommend them to anyone though, it's a major commitment.

How big are your pleco's? Do you keep them with the koi? I thought they need a tropical tank setup?

How much maintenance are the marmosets? They are cool, but seem a bit "overexotic".

Mine are like my 2nd and 3rd children so the same which is high maintenance and time consuming.
But I love them like my children as well so well worth it.
I'm not one for keeping wild animals and the first one was saved from being put down and the second is his "wife" for companionship.
