Pets

How big are your pleco's? Do you keep them with the koi? I thought they need a tropical tank setup?

I just got them a while back as fingerlings.
The shop I got them said they would be fine in fresh water with Koi...but who knows if I can believe them.

The setups water is a bit murky right now, so for all I know they might no longer be alive :-S

They are resilient as far as I know, let's hope they are still ok. :)

I also live in a complex and I have a dog. Jack Russell no less. Doesn't bark at all. Just need to discipline them from very young about things that are not allowed.

Goes for walks twice a day and has plenty of toys so not bored. I also take him running/trail running and hiking certain weekends.

Cat... came with the girlfriend. I prefer dogs but he has grown on me :)

I really want to get a dog but first need to move to a complex/house where more than one pet is allowed :(

Cats are as different from each other as no other animal on earth. I got two siblings, the brother lies around all day in the house and moves a bit at night, the sister is out and about during the day and only comes in at night for attention and food. And the two aren't shy of playing at night or the sister trying to scratch on my kids doors so they can come ot and pet her when they are sleeping.

Cool, they look super chilled. What is needed for them in terms of hygiene? Do they smell? Just curious - not accusing them of stinking!

This is a male as well. He had a female companion but unfortunatly we had to find her a new home. She was the same - wanders. This guy lies around all day.

I heard it is a male/female thing.

A female Africanus☺
A thoroughbred German Shepherd.
6 rescue cats

Do you want to get a dog to protect you from the cat? :)

I have the 2 cats - actually, I have 1 cat then I got him a cat for company

I just think a dog+cat combination will be more entertaining.... for me

2 GSD
5 SPCA special cats

I did have a rat which I loved a lot when I stayed in a flat for a year which use to sit on my shoulder and everything and watch tv with me, miss that guy :D.

They don't smell if you take care of them and clean their cage and bedding/toys etc regularly. In fact they also learn to bath in water with bubble bath etc.

We have playtime every afternoon with them 1-2 hours before sunset and they have free roam of the room and cuddle etc.

Really cool! Do they fling poo like proper monkeys? :)

They are like small dogs in that they have only one or maybe 2 preferred humans and the rest they will be aggressive towards and they are jealous, in case of kids etc.

We have 1 cat and 1 African grey parrot. They get along well, the cat even sleeps on top of the cage in the sunshine :)
