Phenom II 920 Build

Hit a brick wall at 3.5, should be getting that at almost stock volts but it aint working even at 1.5v (mobo does not go higher and does not have ACC in the bios though it is supposed to, latest bios)

Had to sort out a couple of other systems this week so will get back to the 920 this weekend

when you done with the system I'll be more then happy to take it off your hands. For gaming i mean For testing purpose of course:D

For R400 more than a Q6600 you can get the phenom 2 920, how can you say it's badly priced?

400 rand more for something that performs about the same?

It's like buying buying an nvidia card for 400 rand because its nvidia and then asking but why its only 400 rand more.

I dunno for 400 rand more your getting more or less the same performing cpu as the one 400 bucks cheaper :p

Decotey dude, don't let us put you off buy the amd because the more people buy amd the cheaper intel will be when we upgrade :)

The fanboism is strong with this one :)

I ain't a fanboi if i was why would i have been so excited and why did i say i was going to buy the am3 version of AMD? Before these cpu's where released the talk was the performance was close to the qx9770, nobody said that the 920's performance would be around the q6600 which has shocked me actually.

If it can come close to the top of line core 2 i will buy it but i will not buy amd's am3 cpu if it cannot beat my q9550. I am waiting for am3 to see if its ddr2 holding the cpu back which i doubt but i am bored of intel and want something new to play with, just not going to buy a new toy that cannot give me atleast some performance boost.

Actually if i was a fanboy i would have bought i7, i have the money for it but i cannot justify the price right now, so if am3 fails as badly as these new am2 chips then i7 here i come :). Been waiting to see what amd offer before i go i7 and so far it is not looking good :), hopefully once am3 cpu's are released intel will drop pricing :).

Saw a gigabyte mobo for 3k x58 plus cpu and ram will be paid for by the sale of my mobo cpu and ram, won't do anything though until i know for sure amd does not offer anything.

lol :)

Where did you see the mobo as i want to replace my Intel board

I get a 790fx board later today and shall see if that helps the x4 920, hopefully am3 boards will be out soon

Ok you guys have swayed me. I think Im gonna pick up the Q9450. I can get it for R2700 and it should also be better than the Q6600. That a good idea? Anyways there's a nice xfire intel board that Ive been wanting to get...

ye, not a bad price, its the one that comes without heatsink and cooler but im gonna but an aftermarket cooler on anyways
