Philips Airfryer - anyone have?

So there are 10 reviews of which 6 are 5 stars.

You choose to post the 20% that give it 1 star because they likely didn’t know wtf they were doing with it, or possibly had a dud unit.

Especially when one goes into deep detail about cooking a whole chicken in 30min without an issue…so it clearly can’t take an hour to cook chips.

And the other person clearly didn’t RTFM and broke it themselves.

I bought a Philips XL in April. The inside metallic area started rusting in various spots. Anyone else had/has a rust issue?

My previous smaller airfryer, which I had for more than 3 years, never had that issue.
You not first one complaining about this. Wonder if it is the later models? I do get the feeling there is a change in quality.

They probably confused 18 deg for 180 deg.

As am I. But I've long been pissed at the so called bacon biltong offerings....

So that's first .

Jissus, this thing is sehxy.

So is that nail polish.

Must say I’m not a huge fan of all the buttons and display being attached to the door.

Just seems unnecessary and potentially problematic down the line.

Are the various modes just preset timings or do they actually do things differently?

Looks good. But the fact remains. A collogue of mine had hers for just over a month and it packed up.

Lemons do happen.

You’ll find plenty of Philips also doing the same.

It’s just mass production for you.

Well from everyone at work I convinced into buying a Philips (about 8 odd), not a single person has complained , except for the one that went for the oven/fryer version

Hehehehe, thank you, but please, for the love of Dan C, let's not go there.

The presets do indeed all do different things, at different temps, for different durations.

And my bacon "biltong", while not photogenic like it's owner's painfully curated nails, turned out almost as well.

I mean if you didn’t say it was bacon I wouldn’t even have known.

Those trays should also work nicely in the dishwasher.

Would R2500 be a good price for the XL essential,
Or should I rather go for the 4.1L analogue version for R1500 as a single person?

I have two of those electric frying pans and that’s what I use to cook in, I only ever use the stove for its oven capabilities so maybe I could get rid of it and save up some space .

It could also be another impulsive buy after reading this thread. I don’t know .help me.

You can still get the XL at checkers for R2200 using the checkers card.

Is the one at checkers not a previous model? I don’t see a model number on the site, The digital screen looks different from the ones at other stores. (This is only looking at the online pics)

From the checkers site
Model NumberHD9260/91

It is the previous model. It has its pros compared to the newer model (HD9270)
