Philips Airfryer - anyone have?

Looking at getting the XL.
Is it worth paying more for the connected 9280?

Doesn't seem like it.

Depends it you value the control from your phone feature.
I would use the feature for starting it 15 min before I am done with my meetings when I work from home.

It is a silly feature for most

It seems rrp 2999 for none connected and 3999 for connected. Both are constantly on special though. The cheapest I can fine none connected is 2499 and connected 2799.

Tried vrikkadels in the airfryer tonight for the first time. Didn't change my recipe. No oil at all added.

Don't think I'll ever make them any other way again. Did in batches of 9 vrikkadels, 12 minutes a batch.

Edit: Sorry, I forgot... only thing I changed was frying the onions, peppers and garlic first since I knew they wouldn't cook in the airfryer.

It looks like steamed dumplings.

If you fried the aromatics first, didn’t the oil make it harder to bind the mince?

Definitely didn't taste like it. Was nice and crisp on the outside, and moist inside.

I used as little oil as possible when frying, didn't have an issue with it staying together. It wouldn't be a bad idea to dab off extra oil if your fried ingredients did end up a bit oily.

I love using lots of oil when necessary. Don't fall for the "little oil" sales gimmick unless you are fat. Veggies love lots of oil.
I agree, I doubt the oil will kill you or lack of it make you live forever - the point for me is to have an oven that is fast and convenient

I love oil, or even better, ghee.
The benefit of using less oil is that then you can replace those calories with more food!

So, 3 oil fried vrikkadels or 5 air fried vrikkadels.. I'll choose the 5.

There is a flavour consideration though... cost/benefit analysis
