Philips Airfryer - anyone have?

So today I made breakfast in my non Philips
Son is sick so I stayed at home with him, so only for two but could fit for 4 if needed.
Two slices bread, bottom have butter and little bit of apricot jam. Top slice cut out for egg. buttered the cutouts also for a crispy snack to dip in yolk.

Add bacon and cooked for 6min 180deg.

Streaky bacon would work better, then you can make it look nicer with maybe making a cross or a block around the yolk.

What did you do with the Click's safeway special? I thought these were the same as the one you had?

OOH plenty of stuff. I had that almost 15 years, before air fryers became a thing. Bread and cake because it was so much bigger. This new one I am just trying out now to see what it can do, and show that Philips is not the Alpha and Omega.
The Safeway went to the trash last week. Kept the glass bowl, son want to make a fish tank in it, will post pics when he's done.

I don't post often, but I do read a lot. For all you airfryer lovers, Roodepoort's checkers hyper has massive specials at the moment, due to a makeover relaunch of the store and they are selling 4.1 L philips airfryers for 1299.00

shhhuuuu ... cant you see the thread is slowly dying? ... just like the "convection oven" thread did back in the day :p ... everyone's got one now, and it's not seen as having something great anymore. :p

Recently bought a Philips HD9270 XL, mainly to do bacon.

What a disappointment.

After 18 minutes on the default temp of 180 deg C the bacon is still grey and floppy. I want properly crisped bacon.

The Ninja airfryer I have at my place in the US does the bacon perfectly in 7-8 minutes. And US bacon is thicker than typical SA cuts.

I've taken a quick squizz around the ruddy machine to see if all the factory plastic is removed, and it seems clear.

Any experienced airfryer aces have any suggestions?

Never thought I'd ever said this, but you are talking s**t

Huh?
If your remote viewing sense were more developed than your presumption and rudeness then you would this morning have seen exactly what I described above.

This is the 2nd time I've used this airfryer, purchased new from Takealot.

Something's clearly not right.

I've done this many times before on the Ninja 4 Qt, with complete satisfaction. For a reason unknown to me this Philips just doesn't cut it. At least not for bacon.

Whats that? Vegan bacon made from soya?

Should be crisp after couple of minutes.

That shouldn't happen. Defective product? Is it getting properly up to temperature?

I'm pulling your leg. But yes bacon comes out 100% in my Philips. Are you sure you switched it on ?

That's my first thought, too. It does get hot, and it slurps just under 2kW from the mains.

I'm going to have to come up with some way of testing and diagnosing the problem. Like this, the thing is unusable.

Send it back - sounds like a dud. It should be burnt to a crisp 18 minutes in.

Oven cooked bacon is better though.
