Philips Airfryer - anyone have?

We bought the connected model, only because it was cheaper than the “normal” one (thanks, eBucks). I like the idea and the app looks fine, but honestly it feels like more of a hassle than just… well… using the buttons on the actual appliance. Maybe if you follow more complex recipes that don’t require human intervention, and maybe I will use it one day, but I guess we’re not the target market.

There isn’t much in the way of reviews on the Connected model.

They say you can push recipes? Is that just like presets of whatever you’re making?

Yup! Add the food, select the recipe on the app and tap start. I guess it is handy when the recipe requires you to change the temperature after x minutes or if you use the app for recipes anyways? I bet there are people with specific use cases who use the connected features regularly but I have not bothered setting up Alexa either. Maybe I am just not creative enough. Maybe you should buy one and report back. Thanks!

They are all basically the same. This starfish crap it a load of BS. Go look at the recipes on the Philips site. You will see most tell you to turn/flip the food halfway through. So why do you need to do that if the starfish is supposed to work?

I had a look on the SA airfryer community on Facebook, many recommend the vortex over the Philips. The tray is a lot bigger on the vortex. The size of the philips is bigger in its depth and smaller in width compared to the Philips, even for the biggest Philips model. So, I was wondering if it's worth it.
