Philips Airfryer - anyone have?

My gf bought me the Mellerware 1400w 1.4L airfryer as a gift last week.
I was saving for the bigger Philips XL but cant be upset by a free air fryer.
So far its working better than my previous Platinum(Checkers) branded air fryer.
The basket is quite small but when stacking food in the basket it still cooks well.
If you are ok with a smaller device and are price conscious, then the Mellerware one is a great option.

Dump her. :p

I can't believe that I missed the ebucks 40% discounted Philips XL in April. I've been waiting for so long to get this and forgot to check.
They current have it with a R400 discount on Ebucks, but even with the R400 off it's still more expense than just getting it from Takealot.

Tried some frozen pre-battered calamari rings this weekend but that did not turn out too well.

Next time I think I’ll dip them in oil before hitting the air fryer.

Get one of those oil spritzer bottles. Helps give a nice even coat without soaking the food in oil

Yeah, I've tried the Spray and Cook type stuff previously but doesn't seem to work quite as well.

Real oil seems to be necessary.

Not the spray and cook.. You put real oil in the bottle and then press down to spray.
I can't seem to find one locally in short order, but this is the kind of thing I mean

I got a "Prestige" brand one from PnP, but its pretty poor quality. Still works though

No no, I did understand what you meant.

I just stated that I tried spray and cook to get the same effect but it didn't work.

I fully expect real oil to do the job.
