Philips Airfryer - anyone have?

Turns out the best thing to do re veggie chips with an airfryer.... is air fry them

A very well rated "recipe" stated 20 minutes at 360F so I did 15 minutes at 180C, and a further 5... which I cut to 4 minutes when I could smell burning starting. This thing has power. But, there is ostrich to be braaied and haloumi skewers to be made, so that's all my playing for this weekend, folks.

But that is what I said madam. :p

Also spray them properly with some olive oil before you fry them.

My weekend got turned upside down so I didn't have time to prep the belly as I planned to.

So just airfried it for two hours covered in foil and spices, herbs, salts and garlic.

Then I let it cool down a bit, and took it out of the foil. Then separated the skin so it can crisp on the side and brown the fat underneath.

The result was yummy. Didn't have that soaked up flavour by letting it soak in a sauce over night, but still tasty and soft.

So how do you make your chicken whole/half and then the piece like breast or thighs? I need tips for kfc like and just as is.

Temps and times? Been thinking about the bacon one today, what your method? Did the thighs tonight as 200c, 10 mins one side and then another 10 mins the other side. The thighs I had in buttermilk for a while (±8 hours) and then I rinsed it, patted it down with kitchen towel and finally bbq-ed it.
Fillets, super quick or they will be dry. That is why I prefer to wrap them with bacon. Probably 8-15 minutes.

Whole chicken (max. 1000g for me) without foil. 45 min. 180.

Whole chicken wrapped in foil. 45 min. 185.
Open foil and do another couple of minutes on high heat to brown and crisp.

Wings. 20 minutes.

Chicken pieces. 20 minutes.

Half a chicken. Who the heck only makes half a chicken?

Will try these. Thanks.

Recently bought an Instant Pot Vortex. Ran it through the initial burn is as per the manual... except the smell is not going away and is as strong as ever, even after a third attempt. Is this normal and how long does it take to go away? And is there any way to speed up the process?

Pretty much unusable at the moment... unless you actually like plastic flavoured food.

what peice of packaging did you leave behind xD

Okay, this is how the veggie chips are after a further 4 hours while I was sleeping. They're not crispy and that's likely because I should have been around to bag them when the 4 hours were up. All very tasty, if somewhat chewy. I'm throwing them back in for 2 hours just because I can and because maaaaaaaybe I'll get the crisp I'm after

How much more electricity are you willing to waste?

So I bought a xl philips air fryer last year and finally decided to use it, I've tried cooking chips with it a few times but I'm struggling to make them. I use the green and white bag from checkers potatoes, I think they medium sized. I cut up about 5 potatoes around 1cm thick them rinse them 30 minutes and then dry them. Then I put 3 tblspn oil in them salt some paprika and put them in the air fry at 180 at the preset which is 36 minutes. I turn them around halfway. My issue is that some of the chips are cooked ok, but some come out being uncooked in the middle. I've tried to increase the time but it just ended up making everything else browner and there's always a few uncooked ones left. Anyone with tips on how you get good fries from an air fryer like the quality of when you fry them in a pot of oil?
Old post I know, but we had issues around this too with wedges and chips. We learned to just vigorously shake the drawer to shift things around a bit half way through as some parts of the chips/wedges are covered otherwise the whole time, and hence don't cook through. A good shake solves that.

I just stir the chips with a spatula in the basket after loosening them first. However, here is the bake method I do:
1. Leave in water for at least 60 mins
2. Preheat to 180, but fry the chips on 160 for about 23 mins
4. Finally, loosen, stir and switch over to 180 and do another 10 to 15 according to taste.

Sometimes I like it slap while other times more crispy. With the above method I can easily end up both ways as for a more slap rendition just do the next 15 on 160...

Note: I do however pre-oil the basket lightly before adding the chips which also has a bit of oil on them with spices. They tend to stick to the grill accessory if you don't; I don't use the original mesh as previously noted.
