I doubt if any of the so called terrible pies can even come close to those vile offerings sold at any Pie City outlet. More pastry than filling, the filling is a guessing game of what exactly you are consuming.

Checkers pies are Piemans.
Check your sixtysixty app and you will see piemans listed as well.
Buy a peppersteak instore and you will see a piemans logo on the tin.

In the early 90's their pies were excellent.
Their cheese and ham had a unique cheese taste that I loved.
But late 90's they changed some of their recipes and it all went downhill from there.

On the South coast opposite San Lameer's entrance, There is a place called Bucks farm stall. Not the biggest pies, but great tasting and relatively cheap for a "restaurant"

If you guys are experiencing heartburn eating pies I think you need to see doctors, or maybe my gut is just iron clad nowadays as I don't experience much heartburn at all, in fact not in many years.
