Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!

If you cannot get yourself to Italy on short notice, is Cafe 28 the best option in Jozi?

I have not been to Italy, but i have been to Cafe 28. I enjoyed my food here, but I felt like if you not a regular or friends with the owner, you getting sub par service and a lousy table (i booked my table a week in advance). Its also not cheap - check the menu before you go

We had decent pizza in below places.

Polpetta, Rivonia
Casabella, Mall of africa,
Hello Tomato, Kyalami or Riverside
La Trinita, Kyalami
Lucio's, Randburg

Haven't been to La Trinita for a while. Just be aware of special exclusive deluxe personal attention given by La Trinita owner because if you agree to what she recommends, a specially made pizza just for you may cost at least R200 upwards as against standard menu options of R100+ and contents are not any different than your "special" pizza really. LOL. Some people dig this exclusive treatment, which she actually gives to every customer as far as I can see; unless place is full - which happens quite a lot on Fridays & Saturdays  Nothing wrong in getting deluxe exclusive treatment of course.

If you an introvert, or not keen on contact with strangers, or just shy, take note of the above, she can be over the top.

I had pizza here a few occasions, i think i would steer people to their pastas and other dishes especially the specials of the day. Always found the pizza to be underwhelming compared to the other food they serve.
