Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!

Had Butlers (Parklands) last week. Think the last time I had Butlers was more than 5 years ago. Wasn't too bad actually, for American style pizza and was cheap.

I've got some premade pizza bases in my freezer from yonks ago. I suspect they are still edible.

I don't normally eat bread anymore but I think I'll make an exception tonight seeing that I still have the stuff occupying space in my freezer.

Question: Can one make a spinach and feta pizza?

Sure, plenty of recipes online, not my kinda topping though. Not a fan of spinach or feta.

Yes you can.

'Spinach and feta' is a popular pizza. Should be on a thin base with lots of garlic.

Best "high end" pizza I've had is from Viva Vita in Irene, Centurion. Their large pizza is so massive that it's served in two pizza boxes that are collapsed and joined together. I don't recall the exact price, but it's not cheap, even taking the size into account. Good pay day treat for gourmands or for a party.

Walkhaven Dog park in Muldersdrift also has some of the best pizza I've ever had. This is in comparison to our local Italian places. They built a lapa last year with a pretty big wood fired pizza oven. There's no menu. You get a list of toppings and tick off the ones you want. All options are the same price even if you choose every standard topping they offer (except for seasonal things like avos). The bases are thin and crispy, the ingredients are fresh and each time the quality has been consistent. Best of all the place is licensed so you can have an ice cold beer and chill with your best mate (your dog) too.

Centurion peeps should also give Pizzeria Milan in Eldoraigne a try. They are relatively new & their queue management sucks. My husband says the place looks like a Vegas pimp's apartment, ha! Their pulled pork pizza is incredible. They are super generous with toppings and the flavours are complex and decadent. I don't think kids would like their pizzas though because they are not a mass of cheese and tomato paste like some commercial places.

Handmade, hand tossed pizza just tastes so much better :D
