Yeah for pizza it will be solid. If I was a camping sort would have gotten the Tread even.

But I know I’ll regret not getting a Dome the first time I wish I could have put a bread in there.

I’ll make a separate thread for the whole thing when the time comes, but hopefully by next weekend.

There’s also a certain joy that comes from just having nice things. People look at my Le Creuset collection and think I’m insane, but every single piece I have puts a smile on my face when I use it and at the end of the day that’s what hobbies are for.

Very few things bring me more joy than feeding people and then genuinely enjoying it.

I don't get the impression he really thinks of this in terms of investment. When you're a kid you save up for a console, as an adult you buy a pizza oven. Not as an investment, but because you work hard and want to buy something nice for it's own sake. People can spend close to that (or plenty more) on a gaming rig so 50k for something that'll last a lifetime isn't that bad in the grand scheme of things. Especially when you enjoy cooking and use it often.

It's going to be a few weeks until I'm back in SA but I'll be up and running in the second half of August.

Not sure what to do with the Milex at this stage.

I wonder if I can fit a 14" peel in my suitcase...
 
Preparing the Gozney’s new home.

To my surprise found a hole on the right side I’m sure is meant for a gas connection (I always used it on the left side and parked all the extra kak on the right).

So much fine ash dust I just can’t get out so ordering the ash vacuum right now.
 
I can happily say without having used it even that this thing is expensive for the sum of its parts, not just for profit and marketing.

Better make some dough tomorrow night to take it for a spin on Wednesday.

Not at home tomorrow, hence will start tomorrow night.

But will also prime my sourdough starter tonight and see how that looks tomorrow and then decide which way I go tomorrow night.

Ha ha, didn't mean it like that, actually meant it the other way around where I don't want other people to feel downtrodden for using good old fashioned stove and what not.

I fully anticipate the first one tonight will be a complete **** up.

I'm sticking to that thread for home stuff - the Arc is just another step in my pizza making journey and not even the biggest game changer of it all.

Just making jokes. I don’t take myself too seriously but I was super pissed when I effed up my first base. First two went well, third and fourth stuck and I wanted to chuck the oven in the bin and fight someone. :laugh:
