Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!

I missed this earlier and find myself wondering a) what it is b) just how badly do I need it and c) how to explain/justify getting whatever it is to my wife.

It’s a kitchen gadget that does many things, but for this case it’s a blender that you chuck the ingredients in and set it to pizza dough and it makes it for you. Cheapest one is about 30k so it might be worth pointing out to your wife the other features she can’t live without and how it will make her life easier.

R30K ?? Does it give massages with happy endings ?

It was my son’s birthday yesterday so we made a bunch of bases and his pals decorated their own pizzas. I never got so many photos as I was pretty busy as you can imagine, but one I made was me trying to recreate a favourite flat bread we get from a local restaurant with no sauce, just mozzarella and mushrooms and then sprinkled with truffle oil when out comes out. Twas delish.

It was when it was on the peel :D

I used semolina as advised on this group and as I went on I got pretty decent at getting the pizza into the oven. This one we made it a bit thinner and it stuck a bit at the front side so the back side came up to meet it and it ended up a bit squarish when I finally shook it off.

These two were regular thickness and came out pretty good shape.

Used a NY style dough instead of the Neapolitan - much better suited to my abilities

I did some on the steel and some on the stone alone - I'm on the fence with it.

Looks great. How are you finding it vs an oven though?
Completely different results than an oven.

TBH I wasnt prepared for just how hot it gets. Hotter means much shorter cook times so I can feed the family in pretty short order. There's a learning curve and I'm just getting started.

I also have a kettle caddy and as good as it is I've pretty much abandoned it because it's a bit of a schlep.

EDIT: It's probably worth the R4k if you really enjoy making pizza.

The Col Cacchio cook yourself Pizzas at Spar are very very good.

Dough made nice air pockets this round.
Found the laser thermometer works well since my setup becomes scoring hot. Too hot and the base burns quickly.
For me >260 & <300 is a good temperature. How hot does the milex unit get at full blast?

This one looks exactly like I have seen in some famous italian YT channel (will try to find it now). Well done. Please share dough receipe details if you want to. Thanks.

Since spar doesn't stock...

Seems things have changed since then. :-(
