Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!

I noticed there is an influx of cheaper gas pizza ovens on takealot.
for example https://www.takealot.com/f-s-gas-fired-pizza-oven-with-stone-regulator-hose-kit/PLID93895612

Has anyone tried them or is the Ooni and milex the only options.
There is a sudden influx of portable gas pizza ovens on Takealot, 2 from Cadac (I think they have just slapped their logo on it and boxed it with their regulator but I could be wrong).
One from Cadac with a rotating stone

This one is R3500 right now

More choice is always good! Now if only they would bring in more 16" ovens
I noticed as well :)

I think everyone in this thread (with a portable oven) has either an Ooni or a Milex

Would be cool to see some experiences with these new ones especially the cheapest ones

End of the day the gas ones should be pretty similar I guess it comes down to materials used and fit and finish

Pineapple + red chilli flakes is a good combination. Green chilli is must for us in a pizza, in one form or other.

Many many years in westville village mall, there used to be a pizza joint and one pizza was named 'Chilena' and it had god awful amount of green chillies on top that you couldn't see any other topping easily. Lovely.

yep - Green chilli is a must for me in any pizza too - it is too just too bland without being spicy and i start to get nauseous from the flour flavor - so i have to add loads of chilli onto it - and my home made ones also have loads of chilli in the tomato base sauce

any of the Durban guys tried Caminetto's in Overport - they have an interesting Chilli Pizza ..... it is basically a Margherita pizza and additional toppings are just onions and loads of green chilli - its delicious if you enjoy crispy spicy thin crust pizza

Pizza night and I'm thinking of trying an uncooked sauce tonight. What canned tomatoes are people using for their sauce?

If you're passing through the area, Fig Tree Spar often has (if I haven't cleared them out already).
I found "0" flour at the Sunridge spar so I'll try them if you haven't left any at Figtree!

Also need Dr Pepper.

I stocked up with an online order in December so the Fig Tree stock has been untouched by me. :)

Trecastelli in Blouberg when I can get there.

Delicious pizza. Decent Italian breakfast. My #1 for cappuccino. And damned fine confectionary.

Also: A super comfortable place. Laid back and no pretention.

We typically always have stock of Cirio pomodori. Only recently started doing a cooked sauce and it is tastier to me. Tomato, garlic, basil, oregano and marjoram in a blender and then a low heat cook.
My general rule for sauce when I make pizzas at home:
Uncooked sauce: Napolitan
Cooked sauce: Any American style pizza e.g. Chicago tavern, Chicago deep dish, NY style, etc.

Dunno if I can do it.

Checked them out on Facebook and one of the first pics is of a gang of cyclists outside the place. Last thing I want to see when eating breakfast is a bulging pair of tights in my face
Table bay, the beach and the mountain is right there in the view, with the occasional bikini and sarong wearing babe. It's spectacular. What are you doing checking the bulges out my man???
