Please Call Me battle

personally I find it a very annoying invention. He should be put up agianst a wall with the person that invented the sms voting scheme and shot.

Here here!!!!!! i always hated please call me's.

20 million per day? That means almost half the population of the country is sending one of these every single day? Who are they sending them to? The other half of the population? So each day you should either be sending one or receiving one?!

I have never had even one Please Call Me from a person that I know - it's always from some idiot who has the wrong number. So I last actually called back years ago.

Greedy Corporates! – remunerate the man – you making millions! (Although I must say, I find it an annoying invention)

i think it's just the sheer arrogance of it all that bugs me. these guys are paying their lawyers zillions more than what they would pay this guy to keep quiet.

or maybe they know that there is a whole queue of employees that have been screwed of their bright ideas who are also awaiting payment, so if they budge with this guy then it becomes too costly. but then again, it cant be too costly if you are making a billion % margin on the idea, right?

Just give him R1 Million, sorted.
If other have a relevant claim, pay them aswell, as long as the product innovation comes in and helps the company, certain individuals should be compensated.
Id rather have 100 new proposals to make a company better than having none and both the individual and the company suffers.

I think the guy wants more than 1 Million Rand.
Ek kan doen met 'n miljoen.
Is useless in today's world, especially in Rand value. You cannot even buy a decent house any more with that amount of money.

Hes a rich man today, I doubt he really needs the money.
But you could have a point, Voda could have easily given him 1 Mill maybe he wants more.
Personally 1 Mill and the worldwide acknowledgment is ok for me!

You have to wonder how Google rewards employees for the ideas they come up with. Just look at how successfull their products are, sure its part of their job description but still. A slice of the monetory pie is cheaper (and most importantly ethical) than wasting time and money on maliciously conjured bad ideas.

I really hope this guy gets his due reward although it is unlikely. Companies would have to rethink their stance taking credit and profits from employees ideas. Best of luck to you Nkosana Makate.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Google gave a profit sharing option to the guy who started to develop Gmail in his 20%-time that should be spent on your hobby. (One day a week should be spent on your own experiments/developments)

Wow I missed this completely. Someone should start a Facebook group, blog about this; let's start a group that will help back this guy. He might not win and it might not be an Erin Brokovich type scenario, but at least it will change some policies (I think).

Anyway, consumer activism FTW :D
