Please Clarify : Telkom Sim

Gonna try that on Thursday, got the day off. And make sure I leave the store with an activated sim :twisted:

It's better that way. You can check the SIM in store to see if it's working, but make sure that they link it to your landline number. If they don't link it to your dsl account, its just a regular SIM with a cellphone number attached to it. The data sim also has a cellphone number, but the sim number(not cellphone number) should be linked to your home dsl account.

Dan once you have it sorted, the Telkom usage should look like this

Eish, you have been klapping the mobile data :p I have 20+20 soft cap, can't wait to get it activated.

lol at mobile klapping. The 6 year old made use of it on youtube when we are out, which keeps him quiet :D but its one thing i commend Telkom for introducing. Its a great add on to have which no other isp has

Yes. Latency a bit high. Guess if I get a proper modem/router and external antennae, it could improve quite a bit. Thanks for your advise :)
 
I really, really need to get this sorted out, wasting 20 gigs a month as I use another ISP for data.

Do it :) With the Telkom Do packages you get a discount if you have data and line with them. So I pay about R130 odd rand now for 40gig of data and I can use it on 3g/LTE ;)
 
Yeah tomorrow must go, but their stores are always so busy and hardly anyone behind the counter

I must admit, my streaming over 3G was so much better. I need to get me an LTE router, and then see.

Its just a pity that Telkoms data is so expensive.

Routers that work with Telkom LTE are expensive and rare :) I picked up a dongle on BoB a few years ago that works for next to nothing :)

Gonna see if my TP-Link router will accept my dongle... (eish that's sounds bad)

Yeah Telkom has really been pretty awesome lately. No doubt they offer the best value for money in ALL areas of broadband....

Discount for haveing adsl + data with them.
Double data on softcap adsl + fibre
Uncapped night surfer data on softcap adsl + fibre
Mobile data sim that works with softcap data adsl + fibre
Uncapped LTE for R599

These are some pretty decent stuff from Telkom. No one can beat those as far as I know.

Completely agree Cave, but if only they can sort out the other areas of the business. One of those besides service and infrastructure is data pricing, because I think it's like R235 for 50GB's data excluding the double data bit
